縁金が雪篠模様にて彩られた、大刀の「神器」。今は亡き数多の武芸者たちの手を渡って来た、数奇なる縁を持つ得物。その「権能」は、その刃を誰かへと向けた者の身に破滅を与える。タネトモはこの「神器」の刃の側を持ち、相手へと柄をそっと差し出し、自分を刺し貫いてくれと乞い願うのだ。その哀切なる願いに心動かされ、得物を手に取った時点で、その者の最期は定められたも同然である。しかし、その告白は常に真剣勝負そのものであり、タネトモもまた、己が身の破滅を賭けてその場に臨んでいる。「一目惚れ」の結果として相手を殺すことの解釈について、似ているが故にどうしても許せない相手が存在するという。また、恋を演ずることについて意見を異にする相手から苦手と思われているそうだ。

- Part of the Eight Dog Warriors (Hakkenshi) in the novel Nansō Satomi Hakkenden, where they are distinguished by their peony shaped birthmark, the emblem of the Satomi clan, and carrying a bead bearing a kanji character that reflects one of the eight fundamental virtues of Confucianism.
- Inuzaka Keno Tanetomo bears the bead with the virtue "chi" (知) meaning wisdom and has his birthmark on his right upper arm.
- The sword Tanetomo carries is one of the pair of swords from the Inukawa family, the sword he specifically carries is named Koshino (小篠).
- The other sword is named Ochiba (落葉) that is currently in the possession of
