"A male high school student who belongs to the archery club. He has the soul of a god who once presided over a certain world, giving him divine power almost like a curse that allows him to bend fate and causality in order to form a bond. That power is too much for a mere human to handle and if he were to grow too strong, Tokyo could vanish without a trace along with him. The Transient Cupid sticks with him and occasionally turns that power into arrows of light to expel some pent up energy. However, the arrows must hit someone to fulfill their duty."

Having taken a liking to Shinya, Cupid helps him out by periodically releasing this overflowing power in the form of light arrows. - His full name is Shinya Tennoji (天王寺 シンヤ).
- Tennoji (天王寺) can be translated as "Temple of the Heavenly King." This is possibly a reference to Shinya's body housing the soul of an Olympian god.
- Shinya has no Sacred Artifact of his own but he has a pact with the Transient Cupid, who manifests themselves as a small cherub that accompanies Shinya wherever he goes. Cupid's job is to release excess energy that builds up in Shinya.
- Depending on which origin story, the Roman god of desire Cupid is either the son of Venus, the Roman goddess of beauty and love, and Mars, the Roman god of war or as his Greek equivalent Eros, a primordial god of love being born right after Chaos, Gaia (the Earth), and Tartarus (the abyss).
- Shinya's summoner mark is on his back where his shoulder blades are, it has the appearance of a stylized winged heart with the wings resembling thunderbolts.
- It is revealed in Chapter 9 that Shinya is the back-up Representative, or at least the soul that resides within him is, to the world of Olympus whose legitimate Representative, Zeus, was barred from entering Tokyo.
- Shinya runs café Asterism, which serves as a frequent meeting place for his group consisting mostly of transients that aren't affected by his innate ability to forcibly charm people; namely Taromaiti and Kalki; another member is Hati.
- He has a loading screen, in which, he is seen congratulating both Cupid and Temujin for getting multiple bullseyes and saying "Amazing!" (すごいなぁ。)
- On the release of the Valentine Snow Fight event, Shinya's previous voice actor, Masato Yoshida, was replaced by Hiroki Goto. Upon the change, the voice lines for his base unit's and were replaced with Goto's takes, while also receiving several additional lines.
