At Umamichi Academy in Taito Ward, there is a rather noticeable pair: Samat Kumara, a bombastic senior and the rough-and-tumble big boss of the school, and Licho, the junior making his high-school debut who often hides in Samat's shadow while looking up to him with a mix of awe, exasperation, and admiration, crying and clinging to this man who speaks of the glory of walking one's own path. This strange, uneven pair has had a relationship for far longer than anyone expects. To the surprise of many, however, they will often be found in the school's calligraphy room, where the school's four-kanji motto can be found written in traditional calligraphy brushstrokes. This motto appears to change each month, which hints at one of the reasons these two are together. They enjoy wordplay with such idioms. To walk through Umamichi Academy is to hear them bellow in unison, their voices the school's most cheerful as well as its most annoying ones."

A pair of a senior student at Taito Ward's Umamichi Academy, and a junior student hiding in the shadows. Licho, a high school freshman, is in awe, dismay, respect, and admiration of Sanat Kumara, the delinquent who cries out for youth. One talks about his own path, and the other clings to him. Their mysterious relationship has been going on for a curiously long time. By the way, the calligraphy room at Umamichi Academy has changed. The school's motto, written in a masterful hand, is a somewhat unfamiliar four-character phrase that is written every month. Both of them probably like this kind of thing, in other words. This is one of the reasons why the two of them hang out with each other. Today, the brightest and hottest voice in Umamichi Academy echoed through the air.

自分の道を語るその背中に、縋りついたり泣きついたり。
不思議な２人の関係は、妙に長く続いていたり。
さて、ところ変わって得真道学園の書道室。
達筆で書かれた学園の標語に記されるは毎月違う、ちょっと聞きなれない四字熟語。
両名とも、つまりはこういうものが好きなのだろう。
そんな所にも、この２人がつるんでいる理由が見えたり見えなかったりだ。
今日も得真道学園内、一番の明るく暑苦しい声が響き渡る。
