"Hailing from the Land of Wa, this Canis Therian with heterochromatic eyes stands proud as the eighth dog warrior and their new main star. Masashi is an academic prodigy and was chosen to participate in an exchange program between his home school of Ojibo Academy in Kita Ward and an esteemed elite institution. An exceptionally fast learner with a photographic memory, he possesses boundless confidence and a child's sense of omnipotence which is reinforced by his auspicious position within the Rule Makers, one of the big three power-player guilds. People love to talk about this boy ace detective who saunters onto crime scenes the adults are racking their brains over. He then graces them with his insights while lording his mental faculties over them. While he is often seen with the special law enforcement officer Nobumichi Genpachi Inukai, whom he uses as shield, vehicle, and bodyguard, passersby are quick to comment on the nice Canis policeman helping the lost grade-school child. According to one of the other dog warriors, Masashi is the spitting image of Moritaka when he was young. "Masashi wields a kaiken, or Knife, as his Sacred Artifact. It is the very knife that gave birth to the System of the Eight Dog Warriors. Its previous owner left it buried deep in the mountains after using it, and it eventually ended up in Masashi's hands. Stabbing the Knife into a target using an underhanded grip will solidify core Rules and memories in the target and extract them as a spirit orb. All things, animate and inanimate alike, including the ground he stands on, are subject to this power. Using his Knife, Masashi has built up a stock of past memories which he can draw out at will, fulfilling a role similar to that of a World Pillar. He also manages several heroes born of human hands in the Land of Wa, carrying out final collections. Masashi is not fond of his given name and prefers the more auspicious-sounding Shimbe Inue, for he knows all too well the power names possess within the System. In a similar fashion to the artificial World Pillars who run the Game, he acts as an artificial Rule Maker himself. Our boy ace detective also has a rival in one of the student prosecutors in his guild, and they often butt heads at crime scenes and court trials."
