However, it's said that he has a bad habit of quickly sticking everything into his mouth to taste test for poison. Perhaps because of that he's often seen having stomach pains, but he never learns from the experience. His hobby is agriculture, he possesses a small scale experimental farm, and he seems to make various shady literary works. He's a part of the guild of war makers that rule Western Tokyo, the Warmongers. Shennong maintains the front line chemistry creature fighting force and serves as a military doctor. His personality is one who can't leave alone "people who hurt themselves without meaning to", and if that is mental pain that his power cannot reach, he worries about those people even more. But when it comes to people who hurt themselves willingly, he seems to dislike them as people similar to himself.

Official Japanese 毒物および化学物質の専門家である「転光生」。学業は非常に優秀、好奇心旺盛、快活な性格でリーダーシップもある。しかし、何でもすぐに口に入れて、毒味をしてしまう悪癖があるという。その為か、よく腹の痛みに苦しみ喘いでいる姿をよく見られるそうだが、まったく懲りる様子はない。趣味は農業、小規模ながら実験農場を保有しており、様々な怪しい作物を作っているらしい。西東京を支配する戦争屋たちのギルド・ウォーモンガーズに所属。最前線の化学生物戦部隊のまとめ役および、軍医としての任務を務めている。「望まず己を傷つける者」を放っておけない性格で、それが己の力の及ばぬ「心の傷」であれば尚更気にかけてしまう。しかし「望んで己を傷つける者」には、同族嫌悪の感情を抱くことがあるようだ。

Official English "Shennong possesses two Sacred Artifacts. The first is his Viscera, which can freely produce medicine and antibodies inside his body from the things he's eaten. He then uses his enormous syringe to inject them into others in order to cure or ail them as he wishes. While he is reluctant to do so, he can even make soldiers who have used all their strength energetic again so they can return to the war front. His second Sacred Artifact is his Aurora, which streams through the heavens like a battle standard. With its Rule, which functions as an omen of wars to come, he can use it for the opposite of its intended purpose to predict the outbreak of war and swiftly respond with first aid. This Sacred Artifact once belonged to a former hero of Penglai, but he inherited it when they were exiled from their world, although some disagree with him over who its true successor should be. His pride in carrying his army's flag strikes a chord with a certain pep squad captain."

Translated from Japanese Shennong possesses two Sacred Artifacts. The first is his internal organs, which are able to produce at will the medicines and antivenins he takes in. And by driving in his giant injector, he can control his target's physical condition in any way. Whether he wishes to or not, this has the power to forcibly energize soldiers that have used up all of their strength and return them to the battlefield. His second artifact as an aurora that flutters in the sky like a battle flag. This one holds the power to show the misfortunes that can occur on the battlefield, which he uses to sense any outbreaks of battle and provide quick aid. It once was carried by the exiled hero of Hourai and was someone else's belonging, and now Shennong has inherited it. He gets along poorly with the one who questions who the correct inheritor of the artifact is supposed to be. He takes pride in being a standard bearer for the army, so it seems some cheer squad member sympathizes with him.

Official English "Dr. Shennong, the physician in charge of Shinjuku Academy's school infirmary, had at one time ingested various poisons for research purposes, poisoning his blood to such an extent that even his sighs and sweat are now toxic to others. Simply touching him is dangerous, so the idea of, say, sharing a pool with him is out of the question entirely. One fateful summer, many students find their way to his infirmary with some sort of severe illness that's going around. No surprise, they all become extremely nervous in his presence, exacerbating their symptoms. They complain of heart palpitations, trouble breathing, numbness of the chest, and so on, and Shennong treats each with due care and consideration for his own toxicity. He wasn't always so calm in the face of adversity, and was in fact once a very reckless man (clearly!), but he's come to realize now that that recklessness is the real poison. Now, he can heal any injury or sickness of the body, though he knows little of mental afflictions, and thus considers those in psychiatric fields to be his true professional rivals."

Translated from Japanese Shinjuku Academy's school doctor. Shennong's body has taken in all the poisons he's discovered so far and made serums for them, and at the same time has accumulated all those toxins. Those poisons are faintly exuded in his sighs and sweat. As a result, Shennong himself has started to think about how he's never swam together with anyone at a pool or the ocean. Incidentally, ever since it became summer with the sun blazing down a lot of students have been visiting the nurse's office complaining of various symptoms. When asked why they came to see him, they talk of having trouble breathing, having numbness in their chest, blah blah blah. He looks calm now, but in earlier times everyone around glared at him and treated him as a dangerous menace. A dangerous man's poisonous nature needs to be watched for before it does you in. He's a doctor who wants to heal all injuries, but since treating mental illness is outside his specialty he has some antagonism for those who specialize in it.

Official Japanese 神宿学園の保健医。これまでに発見した数多の毒を摂取し、その血清を生み出してきたシンノウの肉体には、同時にそれら数多の毒素が蓄積している。それらの毒素は彼の吐息や汗にも仄かに滲み出てしまう。故に、誰かと海やプールで泳ぐといった経験とは無縁だと、シンノウ自身は考えている。ところで、太陽が照り付ける夏になってから、保健室に多くの生徒たちが訪れるようになり、様々な症状を訴えているようだ。曰く、シンノウ先生を見るとなぜか動悸がする、息苦しくなる、胸の奥が痺れる、などなどなど。今は落ち着いた様子を見せているが昔は、ギラギラとして周りを振り回してばかりいた、この危険な男には要注意。「キケン」な大人の毒気に、気がつかぬうちにヤラレてしまわないように気を付けることだ。ケガは何でも治してあげたい医療者だが、心の病気のケアなどは専門外であるため、そういったスペシャリストには対抗心を抱くことがある。

  • His bovine appearance and association with the Warmongers is a reference to the Chinese war deity Chi You, who is said to be a descendant of Shennong. It should be noted however, that both figures were said to have waged war with the Yellow Emperor, Huángdì.
• Virtual Summer Memory Shennong's CS line uses an idiom regarding poison which is equivalent to the English idiom "in for a penny, in for a pound," that is, to see things properly through to the end. See here for more details.

I got his summer variant earlier and he’s just been carrying me since. Slowly taking him to 80 but he just gets better and better. He doles out so much consistent high damage it’s almost broken feeling. Pair him with transients that specialize in strong defensive buffs and or cp gain and he just blows everything away. If you got him but haven’t leveled him definitely recommend it, or if you didn’t get him wait till they all come back for a limited time and try your luck.

Cv Swap the tags for Conversation and A.Someone (there's only 2 "about someone" lines and 4 "conversation" lines for every characters)
