Official English "A Transient from the World of the Old Ones who once ruled the entirety of the physical universe. It's widely believed that he migrated to our world from a lonely star called Fomalhaut. His physical attributes are all extraordinarily high-spec, but his mental capacity is extremely low, with complex thoughts and especially numbers being well beyond his grasp. Tends to make grandiose statements, yet these only serve to belie his surprisingly low self-esteem, caused in part by his unfortunate habit of digging himself deeper and deeper with his words before physically exploding, dealing horrific damage to those around him and cycling back to heighten his depression all the more. To top it off, those who know him consider him a liability to summon, which has only furthered his reclusive tendencies. Somehow, he's gotten it in his head that his current summoning has made him something of a ringer—a Transient hero so legendarily powerful that he's practically a cheat code—and he's plotting to use this newfound recognition to help turn his life around. Unfortunately, since he can't comprehend teasing (not to mention the fact that he keeps burning his acolytes to a crisp!), the actual former rulers in Aoyama do their best to avoid him, giving him very little opportunity to make these life changes. As such, he's in no better a position to forge new bonds now than he was back in the World of the Old Ones. It's only upon those who make as little sense as he does that he tends to imprint, believing them to be of like mind to his own."

Translated from Japanese Transient from Old Ones who is both an ex-ruler and a bodybuilder. He is believed to have come from the isolated star of Fomalhaut to this planet. The specs of the body he was born with are unusually high. However, he is extremely weak on the mental front to the point that it can eclipse his physical strong points. He can't handle complex thinking and is especially bad at numbers. Despite normally speaking with confidence, Cthugha has a surprisingly low self-esteem. It depresses him when his words come back to haunt him and cause him to physically blow up and damage his surroundings. Those who know this about him see him as someone who's dangerous when summoned, so that's why he's alone. His summoning this time has him misunderstanding and becoming an overpowered reincarnated hero from some story somewhere, and now it looks like he's attempting to turn things around in one big home run. Since he doesn't understand bantering and has burned countless followers, it appears the ex-ruler and winner at life in Aoyama is avoiding him. This relationship has not changed since their time at Old Ones, and there is no sign of making a new connection here. Cthugha has one-sided feelings of sympathy for people who appear to talk in circles but not get anywhere.

Official English "Cthugha's Sacred Artifact is his Star Sword, forged in a fire ogre's flame and supposedly containing pure heat sealed directly within its blade. The Rule it bears allows it to consume any existence and subdue them under the fire's command. Any ordinary person would burn to ash upon wielding such a weapon, but as Cthugha himself is an incarnation of flame, it's a simple, convenient tool for him. Indeed, Cthugha is fire itself, and can thus burn away completely or self-destruct only to revive at will with virtually no effort. He often daydreams of how he might save the day should his school ever become occupied by terrorists, though everyone around him already knows the answer: he'd blow the whole building to smithereens! Cthugha is a casual enjoyer of gaming culture, and he loves more than anything to flaunt his extremely limited knowledge of various video games and light novels. Should he encounter someone who knows more on the subject than he does, however, he quickly loses his composure. Perhaps his least favorite type of person to deal with overall is the lazy former ruler who doesn't react one way or another when pushed, pulled, or even set aflame. And as a lone star himself, he feels something akin to jealousy towards those who brightly shine in the night sky yet are destined to share their perch with another."

Translated from Japanese Cthugha holds a star sword Sacred Artifact said to be tempered by the flames of fire demons and contain zeal. It naturally holds an overpowered Rule that can burn down all of existence and is accompanied by a blaze. If used by a normal person it is fated to burn out at some point, but as an avatar of flame himself it's a convenient special weapon for Cthugha. Yes, as Cthugha's body is also fire as well, he can easily revive himself even if he were to burn up or blow up. He has a habit of fantasizing, so sometimes he indulges in wild ideas that his school is occupied by terrorists. Were this to actually happen, the school would surely be blown away. He has a very shallow understanding of video games and light novels but proclaims to know them well, but if he were to meet someone who actually does know a lot about them he seems prone to blow his fuse. He apparently can't handle that one lazy ex-ruler who'd say nothing at all no matter how much you push, pull, or burn him. When faced with people who are promised to shine among the stars as their destiny, he as the Lonely Star possesses something akin to jealousy.

So, despite my username, Cthugha has been my favorite unit since I started playing this game, and is actually the one who got me into it. Due to this, I feel really sad that his units are outclassed by a lot of the roster, and have taken it on myself to buff him since LifeWonders won't. That said, I don't know much about how the buffs and debuffs work in this game, and I need help with it.

My idea is that, rather than having him be a tank, I wanted him to be a glass cannon, which I feel fits his overall motif of explosion a lot more. He'd still have a focus on nuking the field too, and his playstyle would revolve around around applying Burn and Conflagration to himself and enemies, as well as using Conflagration Strength to mitigate the negative effects and increase his own strength. from here, Cthugha would start applying buffs to himslef, and would revolve around abusing those buffs while punishing his enemies for having Conflagration and/or Burn, similarly to how Horkeu Kamui (A Heat Bewitching) does. As for his Charge Skill, it would still All-Range, but would not only have a damage modifier that increases its damage against enemies with Conflagration and/or Burn, but also heals Cthugha a certain amount depending on how many enemies with Conflagration and/or Burn.

I have concluded that Beachside Chernobog is the best support for him since he can do it without being directly adjacent, though unfortunately his Immobility won't keep Cthugha from pushing him back. Bael can be good too to give him attack and defense up without going directly adjacent, and anyone who can apply anchor can stop his board disruption (though anyone who does it passively is only at phase start)
