Otohime is the AI manager of the Dragon Palace, a virtual world in Takamagahara, and the Yamasachihiko standing before her is one of many old memories stored away within it. The Dragon Palace is a beautiful domain—a subsystem where unneeded memories such as sadness and pain are put away. Meanwhile, those who have their true names spoken in this domain are granted release at long last. In this small world at the bottom of the sea, Otohime and Yamasachihiko ultimately end up taking each other's hand. She opens up his heart, and the resulting light proves that she too is alive, and not just something to be sorted away. Recognizing that they have both changed, the two leave the Dragon Palace of their own free will, heading for a world where the line between needed and unneeded is not so clear cut."

バーチャル竜宮城の管理人AIであるオトヒメと、その竜宮城に仕舞われていたヤマサチヒコの旧き「記憶」。
かの「真名」を口にしたとき、そこに留め置かれていたものたちは解き放たれてゆく。
装飾艶やかなるその宮は、悲しみや苦しみといった不要の記憶を仕舞うサブシステムであったという。
そして顛末の果てに、海底の小世界で２人は、互いの手を取り合った。
オトヒメは閉ざされたヤマサチヒコの心を開き、その光を通じて彼女自身も生命の証、仕分けられざるものを知る。
互いの変化を認めた２人は、自らの意思で竜宮城より「要も不要も未だ分からぬ」世界へ旅立ってゆく。
