Translated from Japanese Transient born in the other world of Eden and cast down to Gehenna. Great bird of the heavens. She kindly watches over everything that lives in the lands, seas, and skies. If a lost child turns up, she soothes, encourages, and guides them. If a hungry child appears, she will treat them to handmade cooking and affectionate words. As a bundle of protective desires gone too far she is liable to become overprotective of someone she wants to protect. This is also a part of her role where she will one day destroy herself. Ziz is built to be satisfied with the kindness to wrap up damaged objects and looking after people devotedly. When she looks after someone especially slovenly she shows a heavy kind of dependence.

That event is a festival influenced by a certain faith that cast her down to Gehenna. Through that Ziz will find new meaning for herself through the guidance of her new bonds. Perhaps it is because she was to be sacrificed for the happiness of others that she can draw this road out for herslf. Ziz is always in high spirits to gain new experiences to make her heart dance and to gain new knowledge from meeting people from other schools as well as lessons from leaders.

• Ziz comes from the same named creature in Jewish mythology which is a giant griffin-like bird whose wingspan could block out the sun.
• Ziz, along with Behemoth and Leviathan, comprise the three monsters that preside over the sky, land, and sea respectively in Jewish mythology.
• Her meal related skills are a reference to how the bird Ziz is supposedly a delicacy.
• Shuichi's dislike of her might be a reference to how his clay tablet Sacred Artifact was stolen by the divine bird Anzu in Sumerian mythology, which is compared to Ziz.
• Christmas Ziz's CS subtitle comes from an expression that means devoting yourself to your studies. The expression itself refers to the story of Gao Feng, a farmer in the later Han dynasty China who was so absorbed in his reading that the rain washed his grain away.
• Christmas Ziz's skill activation voice line is a shortened musical count off for children to sing. In the count off, the first two numbers are omitted, thereby starting on three (さん), and the number four is replaced by a rallying call (はい).
