This allows him to convert the length of his sword from 6.5 inches to 6.5 feet and back. He can even jump into close range with an opponent as if he had warped through dimensions. On top of that, his knowledge in tactics allows him to create formations that make it difficult for enemies to attack while allies have the advantage. His history causes him to be vulnerable to women who have lost their beloved, exposing his raw emotions."

He is based on Kiichi Hogen, a legendary Japanese warrior monk who is sometimes said to be a tengu of Mount Kurama.
- Kiichi Hogen served as the mentor of Minamoto no Yoshitsune - which is why he refers to Protagonist as "my lord".
His second Research File alludes to his weakness to "women who have lost their beloved" is likely a reference to Kiichi Hogen's daughter Minatsuruhime, who was in love with Yoshitsune but later betrayed by him.
