Translated from Japanese The boy ninja partnering up with the Summon, Orochimaru, running through the nights of Tokyo with a number of ruthlessly competing intelligence agencies, underground crime rings, and terrorist organizations. He jumps in bag in hand with an innocent smile with even his youthful appearance as a weapon, leading many adults around by the nose with his strength and imprudence, along with a contrary simplicity and innocence. Sleight of hand and illusions are his specialty, confounding opponents who cannot see through them.

Official English "Boss of the Fuuma ninja clan, Kotaro is constantly searching for new ways to make enough income to keep his underlings fed here in this Tokyo. His latest scheme is to use underwater ninja tools to offer a Ninja Diving experience to beach house customers. To keep both beachgoers and colleagues from harm, Kotaro makes extensive use of his best water techniques. He is particularly motivated to protect a certain noble source from the Land of Wa. However, as that noble source is one Kotaro is obligated to carry upon a palanquin, his motivation cannot be described as loyalty. Kotaro is inclined to dislike those who can see through to his true self, especially if they belong to his guild."

Translated from Japanese Head of the Fuuma Ninja Corp who takes on various subcontract work in order to feed his underlings here in Tokyo. This time, he's offering Ninja Diving using tools for ninja water escapes to customers at the beach hut. This work is connected to danger, so to protect the customers and his workplace friends, Kotarou's strongest water ninja arts will explode. It seems he has strong beliefs about protecting anyone he recognizes as Wa no Kuni's Originator. But since this is like seeing them as someone to be carried in a palanquin, there is something contained within that cannot be written off as mere loyalty. He's terrible with people who possess eyes that can see his true self. And if they happen to belong to the same guild he does, all the more so.

Notes

• His full name is Kotarou Kazama (風間コタロウ).
• Kotarou's namesake comes from Fūma_Kotarō, the head of the Fuuma ninja clan of the Sengoku era. The clan was originally called "Kazama".
• Along with Kotaro is a purple serpent named Orochi (meaning "big snake") that has an orange kunai pattern on its forehead.
  • Jiraiya's dislike for Kotaro may come from the fact that in his source material, Jiraiya Gōketsu Monogatari (The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya), he has an archenemy called Orochimaru, who was one of his followers but was overtaken by serpent magic.
• Kotaro has two appearances in the loading screens. In the first one, he's seen bullying Jiraiya by using Orochimaru, with text that reads: "A frog caught by a snake" (ヘビににらまれたカエル), as well as another one with Hanuman, which says (烈はこう). The kanji is usually a prefix, which makes the following kanji more "violent" (from fire, to conflagration, (火 going to 烈火) for example). In the image, however, it looks as if both are practicing a hand posture for their Jutsu, which then, would translate to "this one is Retsu".

I’m a fan of Daichi Kota.

I finally figured out why his design looks familiar to me.

Hairstyle and Body type wise, as well as appearance in his 5 star artwork.

He reminds me of the protagonist from the Japanese animation movie "Taro the Dragon Boy" (or as it's know in my country "Taro the Dragoness' son")

A movie I watched A LOT as a kid
