"Yamasachihiko is a Transient hunter and conqueror of the mountains in the other world of Takamagahara. In Tokyo, he joins an academy where he can learn about nature conservation, specializing in mountain protection. He long considered his brother—a fisherman of the sea—both his idol and rival, and tried to exchange tools with him to see what it was like to be in each other's shoes. It was at this time that Yamasachihiko lost his brother's treasured fish hook, and he has been searching for it ever since. By nature, Yamasachihiko is a bold person, unattuned to fine details, so searching for a tiny fish hook isn't his forte. Whenever he spots something shiny on the side of the road, he grabs it, thinking it is a fish hook, only to have his hopes end in disappointment. Still, he is persistent in his search for the fish hook due to his complicated feelings toward his older brother, who stubbornly refuses to accept the hook's loss. Yamasachihiko loves to dance and admires those who can dance as well."

He belongs to a certain school in Tokyo where he can learn the professional duties of a nature preserver that protects mountains. He admires and opposes his sea fisher older brother and has exchanged tools with him, and he's tried fishing through learning via imitation. Since losing his brother's prized fish hook, he's been constantly looking for it. By nature he's largehearted and not one to sweat the details, so he's not suited for looking for a small object. Every time he sees something shiny by the road he leaps at it thinking it's the fish hook, only to slump his shoulders in dejection. Despite that his tenacity at continuing this search is due to complicated emotions towards the brother he stubbornly hasn't accepted. He holds thoughts of praise for those with an eye for enjoying dances and are good dancers.

異世界タカマガハラの天人であり、山を征く猟師の「転光生」。東京では、山を護る自然保護官としての職務を学ぶことの出来る、とある学園に所属している。海の漁師である兄への憧れと対抗心から互いの道具を交換し、見様見真似の釣り漁をしたことがある。その際、兄の大切にしていた「釣り針」を紛失してしまって以来、ずっと釣り針を探し続けている。本来は豪快で細かいことを気にしない性格で、細かい探し物をするのに向いていない。道端で光るものを見つけては釣り針と思って飛びつき、そのたびにがっくりと肩を落としている。それでも釣り針の捜索に執着するのは、頑として受け取らなかった兄への複雑な感情故である。舞いを楽しむ目を持っており、見事な舞手に対しては称賛の念を抱く。

自然保護官として山に登り、釣り針を探して海へと足を向ける日々を過ごすヤマサチヒコ。そんな彼の端末に一通の招待状が届く。それは新たにオープンするプール施設の特別招待券だった。そういえば、インターネットの使い方を教えてもらった時に盛り上がって、応募サイトを回り、片端から応募したのだった。喜び勇んで準備を始めるヤマサチヒコは、ふと首をかしげる。ところで、ナイトプールってのはなんじゃ、と。聞けば夜のプールを明るく飾り、そこで食事や水遊びを楽しむのだとか。――なるほど、つまりは夜の夏祭じゃな?こうしてオープン当日、来場者の中にはお気に入りの褌を締め、甚平に身を包んだヤマサチヒコの姿があった。海の益荒男、しかも兄貴然とした相手を見ると、自分の兄と違うとわかっていながらも目を離せない。その相手は熱い夏のナイトプールで、積極的に愛を振りまいていた。そんな人物への対抗心からか、この夏、ヤマサチヒコはこれまでとは違う「陸釣り」に挑戦するようだ。野暮を承知で説明するなら「自分だって、気になるあいつを夏のデートへ誘うんじゃ」という意味である。

- Yamasachihiko is more commonly known as the deity, Hoori. He is said to be the great-grandson of the goddess Amaterasu, and the grandfather of the first Japanese Emperor, Jinmu. He is also the basis of the character Urashima Tarō from the fairy tale of the same name.
- The writing on his sword is in Woshite script. Reading from tip to hilt spells out "Yamasachihiko".
