Notes
- Kimun Kamui is based on a deity in Ainu mythology with the same name, that rules over bears and mountains.
- His name translates to "God of the Mountains".
- One of the important rituals Kimun Kamui is involved in involves the Ainu people taking good care of a bear cub they capture for a year. After that, they sacrifice the cub and consume its flesh. By doing so, the people believed that they are freeing the spirit of the cub and returning it to the heavens where Kimun Kamui resides. There the cub would tell Kimun Kamui about the people's piety in gratitude for their service.
- Kimun Kamui is split between himself and Wen Kamui, which is a general term for "evil spirit" in Ainu mythology.
- Whenever Kimun Kamui is in control, the bear fur coat he wears on his shoulders has the same fur color as Wen Kamui's. When the other takes over, the bear fur coat is strapped to his hips with Kimun Kamui's fur color on it instead.
- U Tura Kamui refers to a pair of bears that are always together, a male and a female.
