Transient enlisted in Toyosu Marine Academy's marine security department. He's said to be known as a professional guaranteeing safety in water areas since his time in his home world Kitezh. His grades are excellent and his classmates and teacher rate him highly, so based on just that he sounds like a pro among pros. He also has a composure unlike that of a student, so everyone in Tokyo connected to disaster prevention has their eye on him. Reprobus may be one of the famous students in his school, but the reasons for that lie elsewhere. Reprobus is originally meant to serve a certain king and savior in his as yet unseen future home world of Eden. Reprobus was summoned before this great personage bore the world itself upon his back and was to be delivered to his destination, but here in Tokyo his still abides by his role and eternally seeks the master he serves. He looks on in longing and envy towards the guildmasters and guildmembers of every guild in Tokyo. On the other hand, he has complicated feelings towards the unbreakable boar warrior whose position resembles his own.

He is based on Saint Christopher, a venerated Catholic and Orthodox saint who is most known for carrying a young Jesus Christ across a river.
- Reprobus being a lifeguard is a reference to St, Christopher being the patron saint of travelers and athletes.
- Reprobus has a dislike of Gullinbursti, as they both are associated with carrying revered gods of their mythologies (Jesus Christ and Freyr respectively)
His "Canine Transient" appearance comes from his depictions in Eastern Orthodox Christianity, where he has a dog's head.
- The common consensus among scholars is that St. Christopher was believed to have been a cynocephalus--literally "doghead" in Greek--a mythical race of dog-headed giants said to have lived in various faraway lands in lieu of humans. Reprobus is explicitly referred to as a cynocephalus in-game.
- Some speculate that St. Christopher himself asked God to make himself ugly in order to ward off temptation.
- Others believe it was confusion of the word Canaanite (as some believe St. Christopher originated from Canaan) with Canine, but this theory is largely discredited.
