A teacher of Shinjuku Academy where the protagonist and friends attend. He's always competing with his coworker Jinn in what ways they love their students and their appropriateness as teachers. In contrast to Jinn's lively nature and hands off approach, Triton prizes order and has a serious personality. As part of the species known as mermen, underwater activity is his forte, so he coaches the swimming and water polo teams at school. He likes moist locations, so he normally lives in the Shinjuku Academy's dorm manager's bath unit. He holds great respect for his fellow teacher Mononobe-sensei.

As a man who has inherited the blood of one of the twelve great ones in Olympus, one of the 23 other worlds connected to Tokyo, he is a Summon who has inherited a conch shell Hallowed Artifact that serves as proof as one who governs the ocean and stormy waves. That means he should not be a "world creator." Even so, he somehow carries the "role" of "ancestor of all creation" who forms "the world, and thus the beginning of all myths." Even while he battles with the dark will that aims at this distortion, he has simply and frankly sworn to only protect his students. That is something he himself has decided as his role as teacher.

Triton seems to be based on the son of Poseidon, Triton, which was his herald. He, like his father, used a trident, but his specialty was a conch, which he used to raise or lower the waves.
His conch whistle Sacred Artifact is the Conch's Call and has the power to blast others away.
- The conch itself has an appearance similar to the Triton's Trumpet (Charonia tritonis) sea snail; though more generally, the species of the genus (Charonia) are commonly referred to as Tritons.
Triton appears in the event of Island Expedition.
During the GoGo! Remote Island Expedition quest, it is revealed that the main antagonist is the Shadow of Triton, a "discarded" part of himself, from long ago. Their shared original form was Dagon, a figure in Mesopotamian mythology of the same name.
His summon date (7/20) is a reference to Marine day, a Japanese public holiday which was originally held on July 20, but is currently now the third Monday of July due to the Happy Monday System.
Triton shows in a loading screen, Together with Zao and Chernobog. It looks to be located after the events of the quest Black Snow on the Mountain Hot Springs, since Zao is, pretty much starry-eyed, introducing him as a "New member to the club." (新人部員です) to a skeptical Triton.
