誰にも知られることのなかった歌声を、叫びを、悲しみを、観客たちは聞き届ける。
そう、「イミシュ」という偽りの仮面を被り、舞台に立つ限り彼は「自分を見る誰か」を得るのだ。
これは、オペラ座の地下に棲む「怪獣」と、それに手を差し伸べる「ひと」の物語。
