Moritaka and Tadatomo are tied by the peculiar bond of the eight dog warriors, each born with a prayer bead marked with one of the characters denoting the eight virtues. Nevertheless, these two are warriors given the Roles of displaying the loyalty and filial piety virtues of the Three Fundamental Bonds of a subordinate. Perhaps this is why their loyalty to their masters is much higher than that of other Transients, especially those of a certain famous clan from the Land of Wa. Moritaka and Tadatomo are connected by a strange "fate": they are both Hakkenshi, born with beads that represent the Eight Virtues. Two of them were both warriors who were given the "Role" of demonstrating the virtues of subordinates, the "piety" and "loyalty" of the three principles. 八徳の文字を示す数珠を携えて産まれた八犬士という、数奇な「縁」で繋がれたモリタカとタダトモ。
その中でも２人は共に、従属者の徳である三綱の「孝」と「忠」を示す「役割」を与えられた武士たちである。
それ故か、主君と仰いだ相手への忠義は他の「転光生」たちと比べても非常に高い。
中でもワノクニにおいて「源たる者」と呼ばれる筋に対してのそれは、別格である。
そこには他の異世界と比較して、「世界柱」と「英雄」たる武士の間に特異な関係を築き上げたシステムによる影響がある。
