Cthugha, clad in his pilot suit, is the new member on Captain Breke's team and undergoing flight training. Paying absolutely no mind to Breke's meticulous instructions, the excited rookie barrels toward his machine, which is customized for him and him alone. He pokes and presses at whatever shiny button catches his fancy until his actions bear consequences and the message ""LAUNCH FAILURE"" displays boldly on his control screen. At this point, no one on the squad knows the truth: the value of these two working together isn't seen in simulations and war games, but in actual mortal combat. Breke has been created and calibrated to survive in any environment and under any conditions, and Cthugha is infamous for unleashing explosions of fire that destroy enemy and ally alike. That their teamplay will in the future overturn the most hopeless of battles is all but assured."

Here comes the newly recruited Cthugha in his suit while next to him is flight captain Breke. Cthugha's eyes shine with excitement as he boards his personally customized ship, and it seems none of Breke's explanations about the simulation got through to him. So many shiny buttons in front of him sparks his curiousity, and Cthugha immediatly starts pressing all of them. Then the control panel starts blaring "launch failed" in big block letters. At this point in time, nobody on the squad knows yet of the true value of their teamwork that only shows itself in real combat as opposed to a mock battle. Breke specializes in survival in any kind of environment. Cthugha can bomb away everything in a vast range, including enemies, allies, and himself. Soon their coordination will turn around the hopeless war situation.

パイロットスーツを身に纏った新入り隊員のクトゥグァ。
そしてコクピットの操縦指導を行う隊長のブレイク。
クトゥグァは自分専用にカスタムされた機体に目を輝かせて乗り込む。
ブレイクによるシミュレーター操作の説明は、一切耳に入っていないようだ。
目につくものがすべて気になるクトゥグァは手当たりしだいにボタンを触ってしまう。
そして操作パネルに大きく映し出される起動失敗の４文字。
そう、この時はまだ、作戦部隊の誰も知らなかった。
この2人のコンビネーションが模擬戦ではない、実戦の中でこそ見せる真価を。
如何なる環境でも生存することに特化したブレイク。
そして敵も味方も自分もまとめて広範囲ボムで焼き払うクトゥグァ。
やがて彼らの連携がこの後、絶望的な戦況を塗り替えていく。
