This mind game is the true core of a fistfight, and both of them know this well. Today, however, their fight takes on the shape of bright-white rice cake growing soft and squishy as it is mashed in the mortar. The paste nears completion as Oniwaka and Kengo each try to outdo the other in competition. Both have knocked heads, unable to truly express themselves to each other. Both are covered in wounds, both are like one another, and one more thing is certain—they will serve their pushed, pulled, and pounded cakes to those they care for, and they will be surely enjoyed."

「やっぱ、餅つきはこうじゃねぇとな？ おっしゃあ、気合入れていくぜっ！ テメェの出番はねえぞ、オニワカ！」
「寺育ちの俺に張り合おうたぁ、生意気にも程があるつってんだぜ、ケンゴ！」

宝蔵院オニワカも高伏ケンゴも、荒くれたちが集う街でその矜持を胸に生きてきた。

反発しあうケンゴとオニワカだが、その呼吸は見事に餅つきの体を成していた。
不器用な心をひたすらにぶつけ合ってきた、どこか似た者同士な、傷だらけの２人。
押して引いて、叩いて延ばしたこの餅を、２人は意中の相手に食べさせるのだろう。
