man i love making fun of cops with my dad until we're laughing so hard we can't breathe. why do you wanna be a small town cop so bad, why so you can park next to each other and brush arms with another man in an awkward silence as you both ignore the dim romantic glow of the clear night skies and the flourescent street lamps? alone together in the back of an empty parking lot, cut off from the main road by a line of trees, as a chill wind picks up and you can feel his arm hairs raise and brush yours as they lift in tandem, breaths catching as you accidentally make eye contact? only for him to clear his throat and break his gaze and pull away to grab his steering wheel because it's time for him to start his patrol and leave you here, alone, wanting? and you wish him well in a quiet voice before clearing your own throat and grabbing your own steering wheel to go absolutely nowhere as you artificially deepen your own voice and tell him to go unnecessarily escalate a traffic violation just for you, and then stare longingly into your side mirror as he pulls away and slams on his lights to pull over the first person he sees for some arbitrary offense, just to forget how the stars and moon sparkled in your eyes? kinda gay, man.
