バートロが数多先の盤面を算出し、ヨリトモが影から局面を操り、メフィストフェレスが悪魔の如き補佐を行う、ウォーモンガーズの3大頭脳。
それぞれが抜群の知恵者であることは疑いようもないが、相手となるのはいずれもまた同格の強者たち。
己の常識が通用しない者を相手取る備えと称し、三つ巴の争いをシミュレーション盤上で繰り広げる。
本気を純粋に楽しむ者、敵の策に感嘆を漏らす者、眉1つ動かさず遠くを見据える者。
この一手にどのような思惑があるのか、どう感じているのか、そもそもこの「ゲーム」に何の目的を見出しているのか。
楽しい読み合いが終わる頃にはいつも、放課後の鐘が鳴る時刻。
3人は常に定義を考える、この戦の最終的な勝利とはいったい何処にあるのかと。
目前の闘争と勝敗は、そこに至る過程であり手段であり、他の誰もが広大な盤面の駒に過ぎない。
