This article is about the story term. For the list of guilds, see List of Guilds. For the My Guild feature, see My Guild.

A guild is an organized group of people verified by the App.

Features

A guild can consolidate the Rules of different conflicting mythologies owned by the members of the guild. It can impose these Rules outside of Battle Zones, in the territory they have ownership over, set in fixed locations by the Game Masters called Portals.

Guilds have a guild master who represents the guild's philosophies and typically acts as the leader of the guild. All guild masters are native Tokyo residents. In the case of the Three True Guilds, the Warmongers, Invaders, and Rule Makers, the guild master was assigned by the Game Masters to be one of the Three Geniuses: Bertro, ∀Isaac, and Curren respectively. However, they were only meant to hold the role in name only, contributing nothing to their guilds and only watch and record events unfold in the city for the sole purpose of data collection and analysis. The title of guild master can be transferred as long as the request is sent and accepted; this is done through the App.

A person can only be in one guild at a time, and guild transferring is allowed. The exception to the one-guild rule are those part of the Game's administrative guilds: the Game Masters and Entertainers. Members of those guilds have a special privilege where they can hold dual membership of both their administrative guild as well as a regular guild. This privilege is given so admin members can keep surveillance over the actions of their second guild and territory. Notable dual membership includes Sanat Kumara of the Game Masters and Invaders, as well as Nyarlathotep of the Entertainers and Missionaries.

Purpose

The purpose of guilds is to consolidate the Rules its members wield into one unified mythology, according to Shuichi. Additionally, the Three True Guilds are meant to split 21 World Representatives into three groups of seven; the remaining two Representatives join the Genociders.
