Translated from Japanese An isolated Transient swordsman who calls himself by the same name as a certain student who goes to Shinjuku Academy. He is a kabuki player who sings lively in desolate battlefields, carrying the sadness of waylaying the roads of those he loves while having lived faithfully to their own feelings. He's unusually fussy with contracts, and his nature is to seek his spoils of battle without fail. The fang Sacred Artifact he carries over his shoulder is filled to the brim with curses. Its power of certain killing will always hit his opponents' necks and cut off their heads. He believes he originally wasn't the type of person to take center stage, so he shows respect to those who give him that chance. He can't go against tanuki, so he doesn't.

Official Japanese 神宿学園に通うとある生徒と同じ名を名乗る、孤高の「転光生」剣士。絶望的な戦場こそ己が生きる場所とうたう傾奇者にして、己の想いに忠実に生きたために「愛する者に道を外させてしまった」悲しみを背負う者。契約には非常にうるさく、戦いの褒美をきっちり求める性格。刀のように背負っている、彼の「牙」たる「神器」は呪いに満ち満ちており、その必殺の「権能」により必ず狙った相手の首を打ち、冷酷に頭を落とす。自分は本来表舞台に立てる者ではないと考えており、その機会をくれる相手には敬意を示す。狸には逆らえないし、逆らわない。

Translated from Japanese When multiple torn memories of aimless souls connected, he took form in Tokyo following a mirror. In regards to those referred to as the Hakkenshi you meet here in Tokyo, he shows a strong attachment and severity to them. It is not a coincidence that he resembles one of the Hakkenshi. That is because he carries the same blood, soul, and "role." He had the same fate of "carrying the strong wishes of another mother and raised as a girl" as if to prove this. Perhaps because those mothers have overlapped, he seems to think of think of them much when faced with a severe woman.

Notes

• His real name is revealed during chapter 8, and it's Yatsufusa. Yatsufusa is based off of the novel Nansō Satomi Hakkenden.
  • 八犬士, hakkenshi, translates to Eight Canine Warriors.
• Before the events of chapter 8, as not to reveal who he really was, Yatsufusa took the name of Inuzuka Shino Moritaka as he looks almost identical to him.
• In the novel, Yatsufusa was a demon dog who was promised the hand of a princess if he took the head of an enemy general. He was almost betrayed, when he brought the head back, and Fusehime asks to uphold the deal, since a man is only as good as his word. Unfortunately, after certain events, Yatsufusa dies, and his committment with Fusehime creates 8 souls, each one representing a virtue, and from those 8 shards of souls, come the Hakkenshi, Eight warriors, each bearing the character for dog (犬) in their names, and a peony mark for each.
  • The game refers to this, and explains how Shino became a Shadow during the events of chapter 8.
• Similar to the novel, each heir of the Hakkenshi is define by being a canis therian, having a peony mark on their body and possessing a Hakkenshi orb with the peony mark. The known heirs to hakkenshi orbs are:
