In terms of character, the Kiou Police Academy's martial arts instructor-student duo seems at odds, but actually hold the same Role and Rule as those involved with Yin and Yang. They share common ground in dealing with the light and shadow of the world: Hogen commands Yin and Yang while Tajikarao handles the rock door that reveals or blocks the light of the heavens. They are allowed by the world to have the same Rule that questions how one should live; therefore, they have been given the Role of seeing how those lives end, and in many loops have met their ends together or in a similar fashion. Deeply involved in those ends is Kiou Police Academy's headmaster, who also happens to be the underground auctioneer who sold Macan. The Great Black One exemplifies the limits of Hogen and Tajikarao's Rule and Role by virtue of being composed of only darkness and indistinguishable from light."

「新宿に仇為す悪い子をバシッとお仕置きしちゃうぞい？」
新宿区に存在する「鬼王警察学校」の武術師範とその教え子のコンビ。
性格は一見対照的であるように見えるが、実はこの２人、共に「陰陽に関わる者」としての同じ「役割」と「権能」を持つ。
それ即ち、世界の陰（かげ）と陽（ひかり）を区分け扱う者としての共通点である。
ホウゲンは「陰陽を司る者」として、タヂカラオは「太陽を区分ける岩戸を扱う者」として。
同じ「どのように生きるか」の「権能」を世界から許された故に、同じ「どのように終わるか」の末期を迎える「役割」を与えられ、多くの「繰り返し」において共に、あるいは似たような最期を迎える。
そして、その終焉に大きく関わるのは、鬼王警察学校の校長にして、かつてマガンを商品とした闇オークショニアの「大いなる黒」。
影のみが存在する故に、陽と区分けられぬ「ホウゲンとタヂカラオの役割と権能、その限界を体現する者」である。
