Successor to the prime minister of Gehenna, he bears the title of He Who Flees the Light, to contrast that of the fallen Lightbringer who descended from Eden to Gehenna, once the Angel of Light. Spoiled throughout his life, Lucifuge is extremely ignorant of the ways of the world, and as such, his actions do not come from a place of malice. Rather, he has good intentions, but it is those intentions that cause his actions to spiral into disaster after disaster."

He is the next head of family of the prime minister household that boasts the name of "Lightwarder" which pairs up with the alias of the fallen angel of flames that fell from Eden to Gehenna, the "Lightbringer." Given his near peerless noble birth and upbringing as well as his particular circumstances, he is so estranged from common sense that even shelter ladies would be surprised. As a result, it doesn't matter that he carries no ill will, or rather that even his actions taken through benevolence would cause the end results to be an escalating series of nasty catastrophes.

Notes

Lucifuge Rofocale is a demon in the Grand Grimoire, where he is titled as the Prime Minister that serves directly under the three highest powers in hell; Lucifer, Astaroth, and Beelzebub. He also has demons serving directly under him; most prominently Bael, Agares, and Malphas, all three of which are demons in the Ars Goetia.^[1]
- Lucifige in-game, back in his home world Gehenna, was a loyal servant of Shaytan, attributed to be Lucifer. As the Protagonist's souls contain Shaytan's soul, Lucifuge sees the protagonist as Shaytan and thus shows his loyalty to them.
Lucifuge's sacred artifact filled with blood-red liquid that is known to create homunculi, which are essentially miniature fully-formed humans popularized in alchemy and fiction, which he calls Moon Children.
- In Chapter 5, Moon Child was referred to with the subtitle of The Little Man in the Flask, as a possible reference to how in fiction, accounts of the creation of homunculi in laboratories used flasks to observe the growth.
Lucifuge boasts about how his name is compatible with his revered lord Lucifer, whose name means "Lightbringer" while his is "Light-fleer".
- This is further supported in the 2018 Christmas Event where, during the race, Bathym teased Lucifuge of not being able to stay with Shaytan (Lucifer) for long as he had a fear of his flames.
