"Member of the baseball team from a prestigious school known for their sporting prowess. However, he is only a sub member. He aims to become a professional player in the future but his skills are still sub-par and it will be a while before he makes the starting lineup. Drawn to his sincerity and tactless honesty, a Transient shepherd named David took a liking to him and possessed him. Though he himself lacks talent, he is well-liked by people who do have it which gives him opportunity to hone his skills and better himself. However, talented people cause him to feel inferior so he can't help but rebel against their advice."

A baseball club member studying at a top-class sports school in Tokyo. One day, Kyuuma aims to join the pro league, but one thing stands in his way: he is absolutely talentless and terrible at baseball, hardly ever serving a role more significant than ball fetching or bench warming for the team. Though Kyuuma himself has no talent whatsoever, he admires those who do, and looks up to them as the shining example of achievement he strives for. There is, however, an ugly part of him he doesn't like admitting to which can't help but feel jealous of them.

"Kyuma became the ultimate pitcher by yielding control of his body to a Transient named David, who had the greatest hurling arm across the worlds. He gained the ability to throw fastballs that would destroy giants as well as regulated curveballs that took advantage of each opponent's weaknesses. Unsatisfied with borrowed strength, he began to train thrice as much as anyone else to become an incredible pitcher in his own right. As a result, David grew to like him even more and now joins Kyuma in training by the riverbank."

Kyuuma lends control of his body to David, a spirit that appeared from another world; and one of the greatest pitchers ever known with a fastball that topples giants. Under David's control, Kyuuma goes from an inept first-year to a first class pitcher with quick, powerful throws that can precisely target the opponent's weaknesses. Even so, Kyuuma wishes to reach this level with his own ability, and spends hours in long training sessions even after the rest of his teammates have left. Having come to like him, David helps out with this training in special lessons at the riverside.

His full name is Kyuma Nakatsugi (中津木キュウマ).
The spirit that accompanies Kyuma is David from the biblical story of David and Goliath, a young man who defeated a massive Philistine warrior thought to be unstoppable with a single well-thrown slingstone.
You can tell when Kyuma is talking, as he refers to himself with "Ore" (俺), while, when possessed by David, he speaks in a deeper voice, and refers to himself as "Boku" (僕). David is also the one to open the Title line, before Kyuma realizes, and starts talking.
His love line involves the Koshien, both the name of the stadium, and the name of the High School baseball tournament they perform there yearly.
Kyuma appears in one of the loading screens, with Shuten, where he states "If I can swing this one, I'll make it to the regulars"　(これを振れれば、レギュラーに)
