Official English "This Transient comprises two Lion Therians in one body: the hesitant and cowardly Oz, and his polar opposite, the brash and intimidating Zo. Only the most robust of vessels could accommodate two such fully developed personalities, and so, on a conceptual level, their shared body is impervious to harm from any weapon. In their home world, the pair lived lives of solitary kingship, with one ruling a forest and the other a deep gorge, but they lamented their fates, and so the light of the Transient brought them to Tokyo. The cowardly Oz dreams of one day becoming an astronaut, and indeed their Role dictates that one day they will leave the earth behind to shine amongst the stars, but the two disagree to this day about what exactly will lead them there."

Translated from Japanese Lion beastmen Transients. The timid weakling Oz and the self-assured hoodlum Zo are two minds that share one body. The tough body that can host two complete beings carries a fate that says "no blade may cut it." They each had their own home worlds, and they lived as isolated royals in forests and valleys, but they despised their destinies and were summoned to Tokyo. The weaker one's dream is to become an astronaut. He has the Role of one day shining in space among the stars, but now he wishes to get there in a different way.

Official English "Oz and Zo's highly unusual situation is only possible through two individuals with identical Roles forced to inhabit the same vessel by some sort of triggering event. The pair both hail from the world of Olympus, although they lived apart. Originally, their Role was to die at the hands of a great hero in order to become their cloak and so help their legend shine all the brighter. However, since coming to Tokyo, they have acquired a new dream, which has incidentally led them to develop a strong relationship with the guild master of the Kamata Crafters. Their Sacred Artifact is the Emerald Flask that they carry, and by drinking from it, they can switch which of them is the dominant personality, although it seems that this is just a side effect, and its real function lies elsewhere. For some unknown reason, they seem terrified by grapples and chokeholds."

They are two people who have the exact same roles, but for some reason they have been put together in the same vessel. They mysteriously fear warriors who are good with strangleholds.

Translated from Japanese One summer day, Oz worried as he started at the invitation in his hand. It was originally meant for his school's student council president, but due to her shut-in nature, or busyness rather, she has declined to participate. Oz of all people was picked to go as her proxy. He is reluctant to socialize and go to large night parties as a proxy. But still, what if he could find someone he could talk to about the stars while watching the summer night sky there? What if he could make a friend who would take their heart to space like him? ...what if his other self talked to someone he himself couldn't? These are the questions Oz mutters as he reaches for the emerald bottle hanging by his chest. He embraces his self-aware poor handling of those who test his courage. The Transient calling himself Oz is originally a being from a fairy tale who didn't have enough faith to form a foundation for himself. He is a legend born from his home world, a type of folklore as it were. The memories of the strong lion made into a constellation have been separated and circumscribed onto him. Apparently being alloted a being who is placed somewhere physically higher than him is meant to reinforce Oz's weak existential verification.

Official Japanese ある夏の日、手元の招待状を見つめながら、オズは悩んでいた。本来は所属する学園の生徒会長あてに届いたものだが、引き籠り体質、いや多忙なその人物は不参加。そこで代理としてオズに白羽の矢が立ったのだ。もちろん代行としての交流も、たくさんの人が集まるナイトパーティも気が重い、それでも。もしかしたら、夏の夜空を見ながら星の話を出来る誰かに出会えるかもしれない。自分と同じように宇宙に心を寄せる仲間が出来るかもしれない。――僕から話しかけるのは無理でも、「もうひとりの僕」なら。そっと口元で呟き、オズは胸元のエメラルドの小瓶に手を伸ばした。自分の勇気を試してくる相手に苦手意識を抱いている。このオズと名乗る「転光生」は元々、おとぎ話の存在であり、十分な「信仰」基盤を持たない。いわば、都市から生まれた伝説、フォークロアの変形種。そこに、異世界オリュンポスで星座に祭り上げられた、強き獅子の「記憶」を別途、外接されている。物理的に上位に位置する存在をあてがわれているのには、オズの儚い存在証明を補強する意味もあるらしい。

• Oz and his partner Zo are two different lions from different mythologies joined into one body.
  • Oz is a reference to the Cowardly Lion from the story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by American author Lyman Frank Braum, with Oz being the name of the land the story occurs in and is also a moniker the Wizard uses, whose real name was Oscar Diggs.
    • Oz's Sacred Artifact, the Emerald Bottle, is both a reference to the Emerald City where the main group had to reach to talk to the Wizard and the dish of an unknown liquid the Wizard gives the Cowardly Lion, saying that it was "liquid courage".
    • His desire of reaching space is a reference to the song of "Over the Rainbow" where the main protagonist Dorothy longed for a place far from troubles, somewhere beyond the rain and behind the moon.
  • As Oz's profile states that he ruled over a deep gorge in Olympus while Zo ruled a forest, Oz is likely also a reference to the lesser known Lion of Cithaeron, yet another mythical beast, said to have been slain-- either by Heracles or Apollo depending on the myth, in a place called the "Ravine"
  • Zo is a reference to the Nemean Lion, a creature born from Typhon and his consort Echidna. One of the most famous stories involving the Lion was in the Twelve Labours of Heracles. The Lion was the first trial Heracles had to face and turned into a loincloth after its defeat.
    • Zo's body of not being able to be cut by a blade is a reference to how the Nemean Lion's fur was impervious to mortal weapons, so Heracles had to defeat it by strangling the lion.
    • His desire of reaching space is a reference to how after his defeat at the hands of Heracles, Zeus commemorated the first labor by placing the Nemean Lion in the sky as the constellation Leo.
• Their Charge Skill "Al Thahr al Asad" is the name of one of the stars in the constellation Leo. The star is now more commonly called Delta Leonis which also goes by the name "Zosma" which is where Zo gets his name from. The name "Al Thahr al Asad" means "On the Lion's Back" due to the placement of Delta Leonis on the back hip of the constellation.
