Based on the Aztec god Xolotl, the brother of Quetzalcoatl and the guardian who would escort the sun on its journey through the underworld each night. When then gods were to be sacrificed to give life to a new sun, Xolotl feared for his life and ran away.

The wind related aspects of Xolotl's ability come from his brother Quetzalcoatl, who was a wind deity. The plant aspects come Mayahuel, the fertility goddess.
