Without his mask, Daisuke is a very timid and shy individual. It's been shown that when attention is on him, he begins to immediately clam up and panic. To circumvent this, he created the Taurus Mask persona, a stage personality he uses to hide his secret identity. Despite this, he still remains oblivious to the fact that many people that have encountered him know that Daisuke Ikusaba and Taurus Mask are the same person. While in the persona of Taurus Mask, his personality becomes much more boisterous and outgoing, seemingly enjoying the freedom provided by his perceived anonymity. He fashions himself a hero like the role bestowed on him by his sacred artifact. He enjoys the theatrics of professional wrestling, and has dedicated himself to providing inspiration to others through it. His eventual goal is to find a tag team partner with whom to share the joys of life and wrestling. Even so, he has shown that he hates himself and the necessity of wearing a mask in order to have a normal conversation with others.
Chapter 3
Taurus Mask is Number 10 of the Rankers among the Berserkers, and the first official ranked match the Protagonist fights in order to reach Kengo. You first meet him in the locker room of the Ikebukuro Colosseum, psyching himself up for the upcoming battle. After he realizes The Protagonist is there, he greets them affably, but soon panics as he realizes he is not wearing his mask. Caught up in his panic, he forces the Protagonist into the Colosseum's fighting ring in order to restore his honor.
During the fight, Tarus Mask keeps up kayfabe, landing soft hits against the Protagonist and in turn faking pain every time he is hit. Once the Protagonist tires of going along with this, the fight becomes more serious and Taurus Mask activates his Sacred Artifact, creating a space no one can leave that burns away deceptions in order to assess the Protagonist's true fighting Spirit. This causes Taurus Mask to see the Protagonist's true nature, and the first revelation in the game that the Protagonist has multiple souls housed inside his body. Seeing this causes Taurus Mask to undergo a daze of disbelief, which The Protagonist uses to land a solid blow against him.
Once recovered, Taurus Mask calls an end to the fight, stating that his soul reminds him of his childhood hero and demands that they become his tag team partner. He is so convinced of the connection that Taurus Mask deems the Protagonist his "Soul Brother" regardless of the gender chosen for them. He immediately begins making plans for your eventual tag team debut, but after separating with you to schedule interviews, he encounters a little girl, later revealed to be Alice. Alice erases his memory of the fight, leaving Taurus Mask with a feeling he'd forgotten something important.
Chapter 7
Taurus Mask answers the call to take back Ikebukuro Colosseum from the Otemachi Genociders. He partners up with Nomad and takes back the main fighting ring. After the shadows overrunning the Colosseum are handled, he and Nomad speculate that whatever happened may have only been the opening to a much larger play.
Chapter 8
Taurus Mask is among the cast that storms Otemachi Castle in order to save the Summoners. After Arc is killed and the Exceptions that were summoned by Harlot and Surtr go on a rampage, he is among the group that follows Ophion, Toji, and the Protagonist to defeat Yukimura.
Chapter 9
Taurus Mask appears briefly as Daisuke alongside Ashigara at Yoyogi Academy, looking for Avarga and Tanetomo.
Taurus Mask is an accomplished wrestler. While the full extent of his wrestling abilities are unknown, he's skilled enough to rank as one of the top 10 members of the Ikebukuro guild. In addition, he attends the Yoyogi Sports Academy and is the current captain of the wrestling team. He was shown beating Bathym in a one on one match during the events of the second Christmas event, and held his ground alongside his comrades against giant enemies and an exception.
His Sacred Artifact creates a space where his opponent cannot escape or hide from him until their match is over. This was evidenced in his fight against Bathym, where he restricted the space Bathym could move about in order to force a much closer combat. In addition, his artifact has the ability to burn away deceptions. The use of this ability briefly showed the multitude of souls housed inside the Protagonist's body. In the game meta, this is reflected by his ability to nullify enemy buffs and debuffs.
His natural charisma when in his Taurus Mask persona often attracts a large fanbase. Despite the fact that he's at the bottom of the listing in Rankers, it's been evidenced that Taurus Mask actually has a large following among the Berserkers. This could be seen during his match against the Protagonist as well as his fight against Bathym. Oftentimes this leads to his working as an announcer in some capacity, and is reflected in the game meta as his Starshine ability.
