Implementation of Character Quests

Planned
Launched

Character Quests, differing from Love Quests, are special quests to provide a different perspective on a character, but the only real functional use is to provide a way to obtain Honor Medallions; however, these quests require specific requirements in order to unlock them.

To play each character's character quest story, the following requirements must be met:

  • Possessing that character's card
  • That character limit broken at least once
  • Completing a prerequisite quest

The requirements are straightforward: you can either have their lower rarity or higher rarity variant, as either are interchangeable; however, you do need to limit break them at least once and to complete a quest (typically one that involves them in the Main Quest)

More information will be released at a later date, and said information will be added under Character Quest.

As another initiative to help out both new and old players with meeting Character Quest requirements, a new limited-timed quest line has been added under Events on the main screen.

The first wave of quests specialize in mass coin and Spell Token + God Crystal acquisition. The second wave of quests also specialize in mass Spell Token + God Crystal acquisition. Similar to the zero-stamina Berserkers Clash quests for veteran players, a new wave of similar-styled quests are planned (information under #Agents Encounter

Valentine Bonus Quest

Duration March 14, 2017 -> March 31, 2017 @ 23:59

Banner-valentine bonus quest.png

Released conveniently during White Day, players get a special scene for every character they've summoned. No battle, just untranslated lines.

Memories of these quest can always be found under Options -> Recorded Memories -> Special Quest.

A select few characters have screenshots of their dialogue posted, and another select few have their lines transcribed, translated, and formatted.

Agents Encounter

Duration March 24, 2017 @ 23:00 -> April 9, 2017 @ 23:59

Banner-encounter agent.png

Like the Berserkers Clash Limit Quests, these quests lack a stamina cost, but a higher than usual skill ceiling. There's two phases per battle, and while there's no drops at all, the quest rewards you with an abundance of God Crystals in place of a Transient Stone like typical first-time quest completions.

It is highly advisable to shy away from using 1.00x ATK penaltyBlow users and focus on using units with wider spread or higher penetration, as all the Genin units have either 0.45x ATK penaltyShot or 0.28x ATK penaltyMagic (they're all 0.28x ATK penaltyMagic on the level 60 one, but some Genin may spawn as such). You can also abuse AI priorities and behavior to prevent getting overwhelmed.

Each quest contains battles with a board size of 5x6, and two phases instead of four, and replaced the Transient Stone rewarded on completion with other items.

Past-Events

On the main map, an area called "Past-Events" will appear, offering quests of events passed for no-stamina cost, but without the rewards. This is mainly for players who originally missed out on these event quests, as pre/post-quest story can always be viewed under Recorded Memories. Naturally, current-running events can't be accessed from the Past-Events area. However, any future events may impose a cost (Transient Stone or Coins)

In order for certain Character Quests to work, this feature is required. For example, Ded's (planned) Character Quest requires completion of the Event:Apprentice Santa's Gift story line.

Hot Springs

Duration April 17, 2017 @ 17:30 -> May 21, @ 23:59

Banner onsen2017 large2.png

As with the Valentine and Christmas event, this event will offer a special Event-only unit (Zaou, Element earth.pngWOOD /).

Item Shop

Quests will drop an Event-related item (雪山の道標/Flag of a Snowy Mountain and 雪山の湯花/Flower of a Snowy Mountain) for exchanging in the shop. Units with Mountain Dweller and Striker will increase the Event-related items.

On May 2nd, the event extended from the 7th to the 21st, and also announced additional items being added to the event shop; these items includes:

These items are planned to be added on the 13th (Japan time).

Sub-Event Quests

Depending on your progress with the event quests, a special battle-less quest in red (similar to the Valentine Bonus quests), may appear. Like the Valentine Bonus quests, you must possess that unit (for example: "Ashigara and Inoga Onsen Hot Spring" is only playable if you have Ashigara). As usual, you can replay the dialogue in "Recorded Memories" in the options.

Tips

  • Various mob units will have Inheritor of Dragons. However, Dragon Slayer Hero will aid in slaying these units.
  • Various mob units will build up CP for their charge attack. CP draining skills such as Soul Reaper, while not outright prevent them from activating their charge, it'll at least delay their charge. Additionally, the news post suggests characters who casts Guts+1HP when HP is at 0 at the end of the turn for 5 turns. Removed once activated. (Buff) on themselves will help, while it shouldn't due to the possibility of getting slaughtered the next phase.
  • Additionally, various mob units will, on death, cast Countdown-10000~-20000HP/turn for 2 turns (Debuff) ( Countdown-10000~-20000HP/turn for 2 turns (Debuff), like poison, but inflicts a ton of damage, at the end of the turn) on units.
  • Also, various mob units will give CP to their allies.

Golden Week

Duration May 3, 2017 -> May 12, @ 23:59

GWBanner.jpg

Like the Valentine Bonus quests, this event will offer 0-stamina-costs, battle-less quests to provide story for given characters. You will need to complete the initial Salomon-kun Golden Week quest in order to unlock three other quests. Later, on May 4th or later, another Salomon-kun Golden Week quest will be made available, and completion will unlock three more quests.

Unlike the Valentine Bonus quests, these quests are longer and do not require having the unit Summoned prior.

A special gacha will be held to make acquisition of the characters in this event easier. Thirdly, this event brings temporary additions to the login bonus. Lastly, in anticipation for Chapter 4 of the Main Quest, stamina consumed for the Main Quests are reduced by half.

General Updates

Clash! Missionairies

Duration May 23rd, 2017 -> July 5th, 2017 @ 23:59

Like the Berserkers Clash and Agents Encounter Limit Quests, these quests lack a stamina cost, but a higher than usual skill ceiling. Like other quests, enemies that appear in this quest may have different skill sets.

  • As usual, will also feature an Event unit, a Gacha, story line, seasonal items, and a seasonal shop.
  • Units with Swimmer boost the drop rate for Barrel of Magic, while Seafarer units boost the drop rate for Chart of Light
  • Element evil.pngINFERNAL-typed units finally make a splash; in ordinance with the type advantage chart, this attribute receives yet deals double damage to the main five attributes: Element fire.pngFIREElement water.pngWATERElement earth.pngWOODElement light.pngAETHERElement dark.pngNETHER
  • Many enemies will possess the Swimmer skill. Like previous quests, Seafarer is a wonderful counter to deal increased damage against these units.
  • Numerous mobs will also grant knockback on attacks. LifeWonders simply suggest to use Swimmer units to easily move two steps forward after taking a step back.
  • On completion of the first five Main Event Quests, "special" Event Quest (Characterと異海の港町, "Port Town of Another World with Character") will be made available for play. Like the Valentine Bonus and Hot Springs side-Event Quests, these are costless Quests that focuses entirely on exposition.

Banner halloween2017.png

(Yet again, finally,) LW announced news of a Halloween event.

To reiterate, with every other Event Quest:

  • this event contains a "Main Quest" (the story-driven quest) that unlocks the later but equally important and repeatable Event Quests.
  • both of these Quests will drop event items that can be exchanged in the shop. For this year, they're Great Pumpkin and Halloween Treats.
  • both of those items' drop amounts can be increased by using units with a specific skill. For this year, they're Queller and Disguiser, respectively relating to the above.
  • a gacha containing units with these skills to help farm for these event items is also releasing
  • a new status effect: PossessionBlock CS activation and on-attack skills, vertically reflect range, disables ability to hit enemies, and enable friendly fire for 2 turns. (Debuff)
  • (yet again), a commemorative login bonus will run for a week
  • debuting this event, two new items will be released in the Event Exchange sometime in the near future: Seeds. Seeds are geared towards increasing stats of all variants of a unit. For example, using a HP Seed will increase, by an unknown value, the HP stat for all copies of Kengo, even unreleased variants. So far, only ATK Seed and HP Seed are confirmed (to iterate, ATK Seed will increase the ATK stat for all copies of the unit). However, these items's function will be implemented at a later date.

Further details will be transcribed when announced.

Event Tips

Unlike the events prior, it is highly recommended to increase the Skill Levels of Halloween-related units (units with Queller) to at least fifty for a 75% proc chance on a budget (or max for 100%, if achievable) to make PossessionBlock CS activation and on-attack skills, vertically reflect range, disables ability to hit enemies, and enable friendly fire for 2 turns. (Debuff) less of a pill, as all mobs have a chance to cast PossessionBlock CS activation and on-attack skills, vertically reflect range, disables ability to hit enemies, and enable friendly fire for 2 turns. (Debuff) on attack. With the general game flow with high level units, it's easy to miss the debuff icon on the side, and units can die as quick as you tap.

Additionally, when Arslan reaches full charge, due to both granting ComboATK Down by 0.6x (excepting charge attacks), attack twice each turn for 2 turns (Buff) and giving CP means he can keep maxing charge with just two enemies (one of which is in front for ComboATK Down by 0.6x (excepting charge attacks), attack twice each turn for 2 turns (Buff); whether taking one hit fills the gap or not was not noted). This may hold true for Cusith as he also gains CP on charge, but the lack of ComboATK Down by 0.6x (excepting charge attacks), attack twice each turn for 2 turns (Buff) makes this tactic a tad more inconsistent, but you can always try and rely on Volos's Green Thumb to fill that gap.

Conversely, the above will hold unfavorable against the enemy, as enemy Arslans were noted to "use" the same tactic of charging immediately in succession.
