"Transient from the Land of Wa, often addressed there during his childhood as Onitakemaru, or Demon Warrior. Part of the noble source, a crucial sub-System to the Land of Wa's ruling order. Possesses a gift for organization and a keen intuition for clearly defining one's foes and uniting one's allies in solidarity against them. Frequently turns the political landscape on its head by identifying any weaknesses amongst those in his charge and bolstering them accordingly, as well as trimming the fat by unceremoniously disposing of any and all liabilities. Loves sumo tournaments and enjoys sponsoring his favorite sumo wrestlers, but harbors a deep fear of falling off horses, which has symbolically sparked in him disdain toward making any moves solely of his own accord. Is generally seen as a frightening figure by those who know the particulars of his past and have been entrusted with a blade by him. As Yoritomo is the spitting image of his little brother, his sense of inadequacy causes him to avoid looking at himself in mirrors."
Translated from Japanese
Transient from the world of Wa no Kuni. Back home, his childhood name was Onimusha or Oniwakamaru. He is one member of the subsystem that controls the world, The Originator/Minamoto(?). He is also a corporate man who excels at politically defining someone as an enemy and uniting everyone else against them. By changing his weaknesses into many and cutting off ties when the need arises, he can flip around the political game board. Yoritomo loves sumo wrestling contests, and his hobby is sponsoring his favorite sumo wrestlers. He fears falling off of a horse, and he does not feel that moving around much is a good thing. He is greatly feared by those who know his past, especially if they have been given a sword by him. As the mirror image of his younger brother's grown self and the Azuma warriors who followed his brother's example, he despises mirrors.

"Bears a divine Sword handed down to him from on high as his Sacred Artifact, which holds the power to identify heroes of this era. However, this selfsame Rule also identifies ogres who must be subjugated, and tasks its bearer with cutting them down for the sake of maintaining stability and equilibrium in the world. This is all part of a System which produces an abundance of heroes to maximize the majority's stability by way of defining the greater good. Yoritomo understands that majority rule ensures this happiness will be enjoyed by the greatest number of people by sacrificing the minority. Yoritomo holds complex feelings toward his little brother, whom he sees both as an accomplice and as a political rival—as both someone to aspire to be like and a source of great regret. Though in times of peace, Yoritomo is still a wise man, it's in times of great turmoil and political upheaval that his talents shine their brightest. Doesn't get along well with those who have a wild disposition or are prone to deep jealousy, but is secretly quite moved by those who perform dances with traditional meaning, particularly relating to grief or bereavement."
Translated from Japanese
Yoritomo possesses a Sacred Artifact sword that serves as a symbol of office as a general and meant to appoint heroes for the current age. But at the same time, its power can identify oni meant to be subjugated and cut them away from a world that needs to be stabilized. It is meant to churn out heroes through ceremony and bring stability to the System. Majority decision aims to make the greatest amount of people happy, and Yoritomo is more familiar than others about needing to make the smallest of sacrifices. He holds regrets and longing towards his little brother that was both his accomplice and his greatest political rival. His true worth would be most apparent as a talented retainer in peace times that nonetheless has political chaos and turmoil. He is weak to those with wild and deeply jealous dispositions. His emotions are secretly shaken when he sees fleeting dances, especially those that show the grief of bereavement.

"Yoritomo should have been in a good mood that day. He had concluded difficult negotiations on a good note, his favored sumo wrestler had just won a match, and even his tea was poured just right. Yet, something is sending a chill down his spine. Could it be the snowy weather? Then perhaps taking a holiday to soak in some hot water from the springs would do him some good. Unfortunately, it's during this weekend trip that the situation takes a turn for the worse. Somehow, the funds meant for winter training that he trusted his frontline commander with have been spent on some frivolous event, and the one person he fears above all else is set to participate. No hot spring can alleviate his stress now! Still, without showing any sign of vexation, he chooses to just keep saying he'll do whatever needs to be done. His gimmick item is rather cumbersome? Not a problem. He'll just fire his launcher whenever his targets have been led precisely where he wants them to be. The Noble Source is a System that can produce hero after hero—those who are willing to charge head-first into enemy lines. Surely the side he commands will always have the advantage in a firefight, no? Regardless, he can't help but fear the one who forcibly draws in close—an uncanny echo of his younger brother."
Translated from Japanese
On that day, Minamoto no Yoritomo was supposed to be in a good mood. His difficult negotiations came out a success, his favored sumo wrestler pulled out an upset victory, and he even got the lucky sign of a tea stalk floating straight up in his tea. Yet for some reason, a shiver went through his body. Was it because it started snowing? Yoritomo figured he might as well go visit the hot springs after so long, but then his weekend plans went out the door. For some reason, the drill practice budget left to him dried up. And before he knew it, that dreaded, fearsome figure appeared at the event that opened up. No amount of hot springs healing could help with the stomach issues he now faces. Still, his face remains unflappable as he says "I do what I must." There's nothing particularly wrong with using the clunky gimmick launcher since enemies will be drawn in when shot with that. His Minamoto or Originator is a hero mass production system, a source of cannonballs that won't come back. Thanks to that, he'll never be at a disadvantage in a gunfight. Yoritomo secretly fears people who recklessly rush in to engage in close combat as they remind him of his brother.
Yoritomo's SA title comes from his posthumous Buddhist name (武皇嘯原大禅門), which means "those who extol themselves as noble and hospitable are the kings of war".
His skill evolution, Rester at Jingaoka, refers to the Jingaoka camp. Its ruins are located in Shiwa in Iwate prefecture.

You know what ? Yoritomo skills just like his personality...
He Plan everything behind all of us not show up in front line and he always hid himself in the shadow just like when he apply Limit + increase movement to allies in front of him and let teammates do task what he want but in fact he doesn't care anything about you at all just like every turn when he decrease allies HP -1200 in front of him. If you survived by his crazy plans like his skills He will be happy to continue using you but if you not... he's just using someone else to take your place That all...
I'm know this in Main Story Chapter 11 it a conversation between Tanetomo report to Yoritomo...
Definitely the best Limit enabler in the game, and the multitude of buffs he gives without moving helps units with After Buff effects while giving someone else the movement priority. Niche, but definitely has utility in fast burn set-ups
This is a weird unit to be a support, he wants to be in the backline to provide buffs to your team, and doesn't want to be moved at all. Not only that but if hes in the back line then why bother make him a slash unit and not a ranged/none based unit? Like I get that most of his value comes from him giving Limit buff while also taking HP away to make it scale more, but it seems really dumb if he's just in the back line not doing anything at all.
I dunno for someone who throws out buffs I feel like other characters can do it way better than he can while also still being more useful like Leann and Tanngrisnir. Probably one of the most niche supports I've seen in this game by far.
Ok, I have a feeling this guy was supposed to compensate for how incredibly broken Leanan is. Here’s the thing though: They went in the opposite extreme. While it’s nice to have another unit who can help Cthugha get his CS in 1 turn, Leanan does it a whole lot better.
Leanan applies Glint which will help units with low skill activation rates, Ardor to make the unit stronger and give some (albeit not much) CP for 2 turns, Vigor for even more damage, Arousal for more CP (It’s more than Ardor, but still not that much), Limit which will make them even even stronger the more health they lose, gives free CP after moving (still not much, but combine that with Ardor and Arousal), a charge skill (Which is a snipe type btw, so if there’s at least one enemy on every row regardless of where she is she will get it off) which gives guts and inflicts Darkness so enemies can’t use their CS, and on top of all of this, she has extra movement in all directions. All of this just by moving. Oh, and she only gets rid of 200 HP on one character.
Yoritomo, however, has probably even less than half that amount of support. The only things he gives that Leanan doesn’t are Movement Expansion (which will only be necessary in the bigger arenas) ,Spirit which isn’t exactly that good compared to the others that make a unit stronger since it’s not a multiplier, and the ones from his CS being Weapon Change Slash, which is very situational, and Crit++ which is probably the only decent buff out of these, but there’s a little problem. He doesn’t exactly have any ways of giving himself CP so unless you have someone who can give CP to allies (Cough Leanan cough), in which case you might as well use them instead, your only reliable way of getting CP on him is to have him in the front and gain it from attacking and taking damage. Oh, and he only gives 3 of his buffs in the 1st turn of a new phase, whereas Leanan’s go off every time he moves behind someone, so you can pretty much just abuse that by moving her every turn. And that’s not even mentioning how much damage Yoritomo deals to allies when applying Limit combined with his Charge.
And you want to know the saddest part? Leanan is 4 stars, and this guy is 5 stars. A 4 star unit is better in almost, if not, every way than the 5 star unit that pretty much aims to do the same thing as the 4 star. That. Is. Pathetic.
Cool Character art but -1200 every turn to apply Limit I think he good with quick game in 6x3 map If u guys use shot type team or 6x5 map if u use long slash or some character apply CS in first turn like Christine... very risk so much if u cant finish in 2 turn / phase
This character will useless if u use him like damage dealer or tank...
I thought his 5* was sub-par until he carried me throught the high difficulty quests... I'm quite amazed how efficient he is as a support for wiping down boards.
No need to? You can't tell me -1200 every turn isn't putting too many units at unnecessarily high risk. At least w the fairy hoe you get guts every 4 turns or so for safety without need of having to add a 3rd character to the comp
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Mystic Slayer academy, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Mt. Oe, and I have over 300 confirmed oni kills. I am trained in the way of the sword and I’m the top samurai in the entire Minamoto clan. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this loop, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the App? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across Tokyo and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Minamoto clan and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
Well artists constantly learn and grow over time so that seems to be case, also the last thing we got from Naop was christmas Tetsuya which was almost a year ago
