Taromaiti is based on the daeva, or demon, of the same name who represents the sin of scorn, causing people to see gods as demons and vice versa.
Her name is derived from the Avestan tarêmaitîm, meaning apostasy, which is referenced in her Knight of Apostasy skill.
The armor fused to Taromaiti's arm stems from a creature in Zoroastrianism known as Azi Dahaka in Old Persian, Zahak in modern Persian, and Azhak in Old Armenian, all of which can be translated as "dragon." Like Taromaiti's armor, Azi Dahaka was created by Ahriman.
Azi Dahaka was the son of a wise and just king. However, after being tempted by a young companion who was Ahriman in disguise, Azi Dahaka murdered his own father. Following Azi Dahaka's ascension to the throne, Ahriman appeared again, this time presenting himself as a cook. Azi Dahaka's sought to reward the cook for his marvelous feasts; the cook asked only for permission to kiss the king's shoulders. The moment the deed was done, the cook disappeared, and black snakes sprouted from Azi Dahaka's shoulders.

Her Charge Skill line Alphard Pahlavan is derived from "Alphard", meaning "solitary one" in Arabic and "pahlavan", meaning "hero" in Farsi.
Alphard is also the name of the brightest star in the constellation Hydra and is also known as the "backbone of the Serpent", which might be a reference to Azhdahak.

While I’m glad she got a significant buff, I think it’s both sad and hilarious that she’s one of the games’ oldest characters (as in relative to the games’ life, not her age) and yet she still after all this time has yet to appear in the story in any meaningful way. She’s literally just there.
This thotress appears all the time in my rolls. It doesn't matter what account it is she will show up like an uninvited guest to a high school reunion with her outdated skills like I'm supposed to be impressed or something.
I want to like not-Utena a lot and she's not a bad unit, but god this game just throws this character at me by the dozen whenever I summon so I'm a bit sour on Taro.
