The chain Sacred Artifact has the power to capture sinners and burn away their sins. It isn't the chain itself doing so, but it restricts things through the "consciousness of sin." Because of that, even if the chains are cut it won't necessarily free someone. If used in reverse, it's possible to use the chain to restrain someone. She hides a burning heart of antagonism against those who discipline themselves, make an effort for themselves, and those who personify freedom.

Arc is based off from Jeanne d'Arc, a heroine of France and a Roman Catholic Saint.
Their Sacred Artifact is most likely a reference to her execution on how she was chained and burned alive at the stake.
Arc's cross-dressing is also a reference to Jeanne d'Arc on how she preferred to wear male military clothing while she was imprisoned to prevent any attempts to rape her before her execution.
