After being summoned to Tokyo he's made "luck comes along with laughter" his motto, but his talent at that is questionable. The carry-all bag Sacred Artifact Hotei possesses has the power to change its softness and size at will. By using this ability, he can turn the sack into a soft cushion to wrap himself up in when he doesn't have a bed. His trademark gag Omanju is to jump out of the bag after wrapping himself up in it. But according to Ebisu, back when they were on the Treasure Ship Hotei's bag didn't have that power. He doesn't get on well with people who laugh constantly even when alone or when no one tried making them laugh.

Hotei's Sacred Artifact is the important-looking sack he hauls on his back. It has the ability to collect even immaterial things like people's smiles as good luck. In the high difficulty quest I got rid of Benten, Ebisu and Daikoku easily but Hotei literally froze my victory I thought easy to gain. He doesn’t lose much HP even with my strongest characters. Is there a specific way to defeat him?

He then steals the crit and applies it to practically your whole party, if you can position correctly. Also has the movement to help with positioning. It also feels like he nullifies the enemy crit activation.
