An avatar of ice, darkness and death bound to a barren, icy mountain, originally from the gate world Kitezh. Regardless of Chernobog's will, living creatures who touch the black ice are frozen solid. The one weakness of this incredible power is heat: In warm places, the ice crystals cannot maintain their structure and their power fades. However, as long as Chernobog remains bound to his mountain, which the ice has already buried in neverending winter, no such heat source exists, and the crystals demonstrate their full potential. As reaching the peak of this lonely, lifeless mountain is an arduous task, he has lived a long time in solitude.
A god of Slavic origin, and counterpart to his brother, the light god Belobog. Chernobog was associated with bleak attributes such as cold, famine, poverty and illness. Despite this, he is still respected among all the other gods. During the creation of the world, some say these two brothers came into conflict, and their polarizing actions created the cycles of the universe (night & day, summer & winter and the motion of the stars). Chernobog rules over the dark half of the year, opposed by Belobog who presides over the brighter half.
