Details

The love connection is determined by the character in your leader slot (slot 1) and the chosen Love Quest. The character in the leader slot will become loved by the character featured in the selected Love Quest.
For example, by finishing Shiro's Love Quest with Moritaka in the leader slot, Shiro will fall in love with Moritaka. However, Moritaka will not fall in love with Shirou.

A character can be loved by any number of other characters. Conversely, a character can only love one other character.

The scenarios are not custom-made for every pairing, but there are minor dialog changes depending on the character you use, due to their relationship chart. In Shiro's case, there is a variation in dialog during his confession scene if you use either Kengo (whom Shiro is disliked by) or the Protagonist (whom Shiro likes).

Requirements

Like Character Quests, there's a Limit Break requirement: You have to reach the third and final Limit Break. In addition, you sometimes have to have finished all Character Quests for the character.

Hopefully in the future we will see Date quests for Ifrit, Fenrir, Typhon, Ganglie, Leib and Jambavan, I feel they need it (also Gabriel and Hati).

If Moritaka loves Andvari (based), his Date Quest will be altered to mention the latter.

Someone has made a rough translation of Tezcatlipoca's date quest and dropped it on his page a while ago. They left a disclaimer saying its a rough translation and still being worked on, but so far it looks legit to me. I'll just link it here in case anyone else wants to bat their eye on it. Upon further investigation, this appears to be caused by a bug, rather than being an intended branch implementation like Gunzo. Confer the following screenshots: [link removed]

Characters used: Shennong, Babe Bunyan, Sanat Kumara (in English and Japanese), Volkh, Perun.

Note how, with the exception of the character's name (which is dynamically changed), the line remains the same. Characters with a separator dot between their names have their sprite shown, irrespective of any ties (or lack thereof) to Wakan Tanka.

Okay, I checked Wakan Tanka's Date Quest and found something unusual.

  • Apart from the Protagonist, Babes Bunyan and Wakan Tanka Infinity are the only ones whose sprites show up in two specific scenes: their meet up with Wakan Tanka at Yoyogi, and Wakan's inner monologue during the camp out. As far as I had checked, no other character uses their sprite during these two moment, not even the one with unique dialogues like Gunzo.

I guess translating a Date quest would be harder than a Character or Special ones since not only one will have to translate the main dialogue and the different choices, but also the special lines said character has for the other specific characters. If someone is still willing to translate them, it would be best to start with Ophion's since it doesn't look like it has any special lines.

I'm suprised Ophion's quest has no special lines. I though it would have them for Protagonist and Aizen at least, maybe for Lucifuge too.
