Notes
- In Christian mythology, Azazel referred to a rugged cliff from which goats were thrown as sacrifice. Azazel is also sometimes translated simply as "scapegoat".
- Azazel's Charge Skill, Bene Ha Elohim or "Sons of God" refers to the story of fallen angels who, cast out from heaven, formed forbidden sexual relationships with mortals.
- His Role is "Guardian" and his Rule is "Detection."
- During the Event "Seaside Summer School with You", After the battle against a group of ninjas. Azazel appears before you and Jiraiya, seeing you hugging each other and sorrounded by poisonous sea snakes, under the assumption that you and the cowardly ninja planned to use them for fornication. With some explanation and pleading, Azazel later reveals that the golden chains that binds his body, not only hide his real power, but also his true unbound form. While there are no sprites for it, the protagonist mentions that Azazel "transformed" into a creature with 7 serpent heads, 14 faces, and 12 wings, before getting knocked unconscious due to the sheer terror Azazel's appearance ensued. It is soon explained that the form we see Azazel use now is just the body of a poor goat that was sacrificed in Azazel's name. These are possibly references to Azazel's True Nature. According to Azazel's Legend in the Book of Enoch , after having been kicked out of Heaven, Azazel committed the terrible crime of teaching humanity the many secrets that Heaven tried to keep from them. Azazel taught men how to forge weapons and armor, taught women how to create cosmetics and hair dyes, but above all. Teaching humanity how to have sex and procreate. When Azazel continues to mention "I am merely planting the seeds of love, and waiting what shape they'll take." In Chapter 3. It's actually a call back to Azazel's last crime against the heavens. As he is credited for teaching humanity the different kinds of love that exist in Eden Mythology. "Enoch, 10:8 ... The whole earth has been corrupted through the works that were taught by Azazel: to him ascribe all sin."
- It's a bit unclear as to which version of Azazel were actually playing with in Housamo. As depictions of the character varies from book to book. However, given the clues the character provided, it's a possibility that Azazel may be a combination of versions from The Book of Enoch and Leviticus. The Leviticus where Azazel acts the role of the priest by listening to the confessions of sinners, through messages given to him by "The Scapegoats" that wander into his wilderness. And the Enoch version, Where he was the leader of "The Watchers", who taught humanity the divine secrets that led them to sin.
