"From Babilim, land of hot sands and hotter winds, comes a Transient who judges order and chaos. Shamash currently attends Penitentia Academy as a third-year student. He worked as the personal tutor to a great Sumerian king in his homeland, and he continues to tutor on the side, balancing the job with his own studies. His students study longer and boost their grades without fail, particularly in the subjects of social studies, physical education, and law. Shamash's sunny disposition and stellar reputation as an instructor have people fighting over the privilege of having him as their tutor—and why wouldn't they? He is like an older brother to all, guiding beginners into unfamiliar subjects with a gentle touch, particularly law. His teaching style is based on the carrot and the stick, starting with easy problems and freely given praise before driving his students toward the toughest of academic walls. This philosophy is reflected in his personal life, where his hobbies are baking the delectable sweets of his homeland and undergoing the punishing physical training regimen of a soldier. While his grades are as excellent as one might expect, Shamash tends to disappear from time to time, earning the ire of his teachers. He has a reason for this, however—a mission, in fact. During his absences from school he prowls the city streets as a vigilante, passing judgment on those who violate the law while evading its just punishment. Adding to his mystery are rumors that hint he is part of a top-secret guild operating outside of Tokyo's Game with impunity. He also seems to have won the fierce attention of a certain truancy officer who chooses whips over sticks and has a particular fixation with the idea of individual lessons carried out in secret."

Transient from the world of Babil, where order and chaos are sorted and dust clouds and hot winds blow. He is a third year student at a certain school and secret service trainee of what's generally referred to as the Army Prison Academy. In his home world he was the private tutor of a Sumerian king, and here in Tokyo he has continued on with that line of work. He's reputed to increase the study times and raise the grades of all of his students. Shamash's best subjects would be social studies, phys ed, and law amongst others, and he's a popular private tutor together with his sunny personality. He's especially kind on students entering the field of law for the first time, acting as everyone's big brother. He specializes in the carrot and stick approach, starting things off easy and leading things into intense studying. His hobbies include making tradition sweets from his home world and military style corporate punishment training. Are you the type to excel in class but sneak off when no one is looking, upsetting your teachers? Should that happen, Shamash will become the judge of criminals the Dark Executor to mete out your inevitable punishment. Shamash seems to be getting acquainted with one of the top secret confidential guilds that place themselves outside the environment of Tokyo's game. A certain whip wielding public morals committee member who overreacts to the phrase "private lessons" has their eyes on him.

"Shamash wields a Whip and a Circle that signifies a solar orbit, a Sacred Artifact duo that represents the principle of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. The Rule this Artifact unleashes circumvents all barriers, physical and metaphysical, reaching out indefinitely to find its target. Once struck by the Rule, there can be no escape save for proving one's own nonexistence. The crimes of those affected are revealed under the light of justice, then reenacted so that pain inflicted may be measured as a reference for their sentencing. Those subjected to Shamash's judgment will receive a punishment that fits the crime, no matter the offense. Tokyo's underworld fear him as an avenger lurking in the darkness. Others seek him out in desperation, both for his talents in enacting justice and revenge, and for his teaching and coaching abilities. For instance, up-and-coming athletes come to him for private, personal training and for legal advice on contracts. Shamash too easily sympathizes with shows of raw emotion, robbing him of all initiative, so he keeps his distance from individuals with such personalities. On the other hand, he has a great affinity for anyone carrying the veritable world and ""all"" it contains on their shoulders, as well as those who openly admit to all of their crimes."
Translated from Japanese
Shamash possesses a cane whip and circle Sacred Artifact that signifies a solar orbit and is the embodiment of the idea "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." When activated, it has the power to circumvent all physical and metaphysical obstacles to reach Infinity. When used on a subject that isn't classified by the world as having questionably verifiable existence, it shines a light on all crimes they have committed. It can also be said to recreate and inflict the pain caused by these crimes onto the subject as a way of using materials to form a judicial decision. Anyone judged by Shamash will receive a fair and commensurate punishment in accordance to their crimes. The criminal underworld fears him as the Mysterious Revenge Contractor, and many reluctantly seek him out. Shamash has given private lessons to promising athletes on workout routines and doing legal checks of professional contracts. That said, there are times when he identifies too strongly with direct emotions and gets pulled in by it, so some keep their distance from him for that. On the other hand, he tends to get on well with people who find the burden of carrying All things too heavy and those who accept all of their sins.
The Sumerian king that he tutored, who is mentioned in his Research File, is a reference to the ancient Mesopotamian hero Gilgamesh, whom he acts as his divine patron in certain versions of the Epic of Gilgamesh.
His Charge Skill Sha Naqba Imuru is a reference to the incipit of the same poem, which means "He who Saw the Abyss".
His Sacred Artifact's "eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" principle reflects reciprocal justice, a legal principle that was codified in Babylonian and earlier Mesopotamian law codes, as well as Shamash's role as a divine judge in mythology.
His two Sacred Artifacts are a reference to a measuring rod and measuring line, symbols in Mesopotamian art that are often accompany gods and kings.
