Raiders of The Lost Isle 2: Undersea City of Promise
Dagon is introduced as a professor at Toyosu Academy, and an expert of oceanic construction. While at a lecture hall in Toyosu, he is met by an unknown person. They briefly discuss a new transient student from a high class family in Gehenna. They quickly change subjects and begin talking about students recently caught in Overworld Shifts belonging to worlds not connected to the Game or the 23 worlds connected to Tokyo. A connection is also made to Tokyo Bay with these Overworld Shifts. Among those names includes that of the Protagonist, of which Dagon declines to continue reading after seeing that name, stating he's only recently come to Tokyo. They continue the discussion until the name of Canaan pops up. Dagon feels he's supposed to know the name, but cannot remember from where or why. Having only a brief glimpse of a temple from his memory, he brushes the discussion aside.
The person he's speaking to then shifts the subject to Tokyo soon being the site of a mass destruction. This person then gives Dagon a map to their group's location, stating that Dagon will be safe there and that if any leads to Canaan exist, he will find it there.
Dagon is next seen after the Overworld Shift, when Astarte and Astaroth take The Protagonist to the temple of Dagon. Here, he's depicted as enormous, at least 20 meters tall. After introducing himself as the Father of Canaan, he welcomes you to the city, saying that regardless of intent, Dagon had sworn to love all who came to his world. After the Protagonist asks to stay, Dagon accepts, with the condition that the Protagonist collect as many heart shells as they can, and make offerings to Dagon. After Astarte and the Protagonist leave, Dagon is shown watching Tokyo, and comments that some of his brethren have sunken to the Deep, and wait as if dreaming.
Notes
- Dagon's charge skill "Over Shadow" is a reference to one of H.P. Lovecraft's novella "Shadow Over Innsmouth" where the townspeople made a pact with fish-like creatures called Deep Ones that worship Father Dagon and his consort Mother Hydra.
