Overview

Catoblepas

Catoblepas is an immobile but self-sufficient tank who specializes in alluring his aggressors with CharmCannot attack for 3 turns (Debuff) before striking back with some damage of his own. To start, he has access to high rate DEF UpDEF Up by 0.9x ~ 0.45x for 4 turns (Buff) and TenacityDEF Up by 0.9x ~ 0.45x for 1 turn (Buff) to ensure endurance, allowing for plenty of chances to Charm enemies that hit him as well as enemies he hits, which will suffer increased damage from him. Permanent TauntAdds aggro to unit for 2 turns. (Buff) plus high rate attraction at Turn Start ensures enemy attention is always on him, allowing fragile allies to safely attack or provide him sustain which he will greatly appreciate. His CS allows him to move and fully utilize his highest rate Charm, said skill helping him reach this point quicker with CP on being hit, though external support from units such as Kurogane (Nightglows) or Yoritomo (the latter of which asks a potentially hefty price for it) can allow him to move even sooner. The true only weakness keeping Catoblepas from being a perfect tank is his innate lack of sustain, instead relying on Charming enemies to marginalize damage taken, though he would always appreciate some healing.
