☆3/☆4 Horkeu Kamui

Horkeu Kamui is tough to beat with the Guts+Tenacity combo, he approaches increased durability and KO insurance to reassure he’ll be able to take incoming hits, which is fairly recommended if he wants to approach his LB2 in order to optimize his damage and whatever ally is behind him as well. However, his huge selling point lies in LB3, it’s legitimately and arguably the most life saving skill there is in the game (currently), it easily nurses an endangered ally back to action if you’re willing to move him frequently to approach its effects. Still, he’s not without his downsides, he has to keep moving if he wants Tenacity up to be any durable, and can be overwhelmed by too much damage, not to mention he’s purely 1.00x ATK penaltyBlow, sacrificing viable ranges for damage he might not usually approach.

☆5 Horkeu Kamui (story variant)

Horkeu Kamui introduces the new Hero element, it may sound neat on paper, but it sadly quite hinders him offensively towards very common elements and gives him bonus damage to a scarce element that’s also already effectively damaged by everything else (Shadow), the only saving grace there is being currently the only element to resist Light and Dark, arguably the two best elements in the game. On the bright side, while he sacrifices his lifesaving prowess with his original LB3, he gains much-needed self-sustain thanks to Guts, Stubborn with an amazing heal and Fighting Spirit when hit, which will be very often due to his frontline nature. His Charge is an unknowing nuke as well, only made better through party support. Take his Default and his effect ranges as mostly a bonus, since while they can be excellent under the right circumstances, they’re generally difficult to approach.

Highlights

☆3/☆4 Horkeu Kamui

Adapted with permission from the Housamo Gameplay-Based Tier List. Remove this disclaimer when Highlights is sufficiently modified.

Class: Defensive Support, Tank

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ KO insurance through Default Guts ensures his survivability.

+ Traditional increased durability through LB1 Tenacity, paired with Guts makes him formidably tough to beat.

+ LB2 works well to give a damage boost to whoever he is protecting, besides himself.

+ LB3 is arguably the most life saving skill in the game (currently) thanks to Evasion nearly nullifying damage, with healing that’s guaranteed to save an ally in danger.

Cons

- Purely Strike, with the range being an issue despite his formidable damage.

- LB2 isn’t necessarily approached in general, neither by him nor most who he’ll end up protecting, he also needs to be hit in order for it to happen.

- Past potential damage, Charge isn’t too good.

☆5 Horkeu Kamui (story variant)

Class: Tank, Defensive Support

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ LB1 works well to give a damage boost to himself whenever possible, synergizing well with his frontline nature and affecting allies behind as a bonus.

+ KO insurance through LB2 Guts ensures his survivability as a frontliner.

+ LB3 bolsters his and his backline ally’s survivability thanks to Tenacity damage reduction.

+ If under LB1, his Charge can reach very respectful damage thanks to his Default, even if sadly Freeze is at its weakest effect.

Cons

- Hero element isn’t precisely fantastic offensively, nor is it too remarkable defensively except for resisting Dark and Light.

- He’s much obliged to have someone behind him at all times if he wants to approach his skills to a better extent if it’s not for self-benefit.

- Status Reflect is anywhere from amazing to underwhelming depending on what it reflects, and again, only to people behind him.

- Is debatably Charge-reliant in order to comfortably deal damage, which his element sadly sets back.
