The merfolk hostages are rescued, and are traded for Benten. The crew then determines a plan to escape the collision is by heading northwest, which is opposite to the southeast invisible borders of the sea (originating from Tokyo Bay's borders) that Ahab and Makara previously identified. They encounter the Black Storm, who then tries to sink their ship to kill Typhon. It is revealed that Black Storm is the personified form of Typhon's the associated regrets of his past in Olympus, where he played the role of a [[Devourer of Worlds|world destroyer]] by overturning oceans. Ahab [[Bind|incapacitates]] Black Storm with his Shaft Sacred Artifact, and attempts to sacrifice himself so the rest of the crew can escape the tsunami and collision. The crew, however, successfully rescue him through a plan by Ganglie using everyone's Rules: Typhon brings the Protagonist closer to the Black Storm, the Protagonist cuts the rope holding Ahab to the impaled Black Storm, Eita pierces a path through the tsunami, Ganglie stabilizes the path, and Benten [[Flow Diverter|redirects the winds}} to push the Ship forward. Typhon directly challenges the Black Storm's powers with his own, protecting the ship and having both of them exhaust their energy.

They encounter the Black Storm, who then tries to sink their ship to kill Typhon. When both have been exhausted, Typhon admits he realized it was him and not the Black Storm that caused the collision (although in truth it was both), and begins to desummon. His desummoning eventually terminates the collision, returning Benten and the Protagonist to the Tokyo Bay coast. The two then make plans to reunite with the rest of the crew in Tokyo.
