Santa Claus Departure Ceremony
The Santa Claus Departure Ceremony is an annual event held on the night of Christmas Eve. The departure of Santas from the Tokyo Santa School are preceded with a ceremony. It is intended to celebrate the debut of Apprentice Santas.
Participants
The ceremony marks the launch of Reindeer and Santas from the Santa School to deliver presents all throughout Tokyo.
Because of the huge scale of the event, a different sponsoring school jointly participates with the Santa School to ensure the ceremony goes without a hitch. However, although only a single school may sponsor the event in a given ceremony, multiple schools contribute in some way. Non-departing participants consist of middle or high school students. An executive committee oversees all these ceremony contributions.
Seniors depart at during the ceremony, while novices depart after.
Preparation
Meetings deciding how the ceremony will go are conducted within either the Santa School or the sponsor school. The committee members can coordinate with the clubs in their school to prepare services such as food or performances.
