☆3/☆4 Motosumi
Motosumi’s LB1 to LB3 are good. All his skills eventually have guaranteed proc rates and he even has a self-damage buff that compliments his attack range quite well since it easily stacks with others of its kind. The issue there lies in the fact that his Default skill is largely situational since Charm isn't abundant and in terms of what he can do and there's many others of his own element that can do it and have more beneficial skills to them, be it for themselves or the party. Not all hope is lost though, Motosumi is simply easy to outclass within his element and in general, but that doesn’t take away from his sufficient consistency. Another thing worth mentioning, while the Insight provided by Default upgrade sounds like a very attractive buff, he’s of the few exceptions that don’t need it since all of his skills have guaranteed proc rates, so his skill upgrade changes nothing about him.
☆4 Setsubun Motosumi
Motosumi (Setsubun) dips into a formerly uncontested role through both his attack range, Bind and Insight all on himself. This alone is an incredible combo that trivializes a lot of difficulty if you manage his Insight smartly, which is fairly easy. However, besides taking a page from Benten’s book and improving upon it, he also has a great element and offensive buff that easily stacks with common ones, meaning his damage and disruption are rather hard to contest. The cherry on top comes with being stun-immune and having Guts to shrug off untimely KOs as well as temporarily increasing his allies’ endurance for a few turns. The only real downside is properly managing his LB1 and his Charge being not too great, but none of this really hinders his fantastic performance in the long run.

Gameplay role:
Pros
+ A considerable LB1 for pumping CP around.
+ A nice LB2 that bolsters his damage.
+ Charge can hit considerably hard thanks to LB2.
+ Guaranteed proc rates in all of his skills.
Cons
- Default is largely situational, if mostly useless. Its upgrade doesn’t help him given all of his skills have guaranteed proc rates, making Insight a waste.
- LB3 may be outclassed by other more-frequent trigger methods despite it being guaranteed, with amazing effect range.
- Charge has not much more than its potential damage due to underwhelming effects.
☆4 Setsubun Motosumi
Class: Disruptive Support
Gameplay role:
Pros
+ Thanks to the combo of Bind+Insight by himself, owns a rather high Bind rate, spread to a lot of enemies thanks to his attack range, therefore greatly crippling them all with ease.
+ Another strong combination lies in his element and his LB2, an uncommon offensive buff allows his damage to be formidable on top of his constant Binding.
+ Owns Guts to survive untimely KOs and grants considerable durability to his allies just by being present.
Cons
- LB1’s requirement can be somewhat tricky due to lack of defensive buffs for himself despite the great payoff.
- Charge has both a funny attack range and an effect that’s subpar at best due to Blessing being easily accessible as a normal buff, making his Charge essentially the worst part of his skills.
