Currently, not much is known about the Akashic Records. In-lore (that is, in the story), it was briefly mentioned towards the end of Chapter 8. In-game (that is, as a game mechanic), it was briefly mentioned as a new quest type involving powering up cards through grinding quests.
Due to the nature of the game (that is, in-lore: the repeating timelines and the emphasis on repeating timelines, the merged timelines, "time travel", and in-game: the support system), it's reasonable to infer that this system will involve other player data, a la the Souls series. Given the internal nature of the actual app (the real one, not the in-lore one), it's also reasonable to assume that there may be a replay system.
