Despite being a release unit, {{Transient icon|Marchosias}} is still a very useful and good character to use due to his ability of providing three sources of damage reduction, something which is remarkable for a {{Star|3}}/{{Star|4}} unit. Additionally, his application of {{Status|en name=Tenacity}} being rather large due to his skill evolution and his extended horizontal movement make him ideal as a unit to move for a team. Furthermore, Tenacity itself is a less commonly applied defensive buff to allies compared to Protection, so this is also a niche for Marchosias in itself. So despite being an old unit, Marchosias is very capable as a tank and defensive support and presents a nice low-cost option for users. Finally, the introduction of ARs has also considerably boosted his utility due to the combination of his elemental attribute and weapon type.

{{Transient icon|Marchosias}} is a tricky form of defensive support+tank due to half of his skills requiring his allies to be behind him, making him a natural, if not the only mandatory frontliner of your party. LB2 needs him to get hit, which is encouraged since he has the good Tenacity damage reduction and on top of this he applies Curse basically always and has LB3 almost on demand through moving. All of that will make for some serious damage reduction for your party if pulled off properly. Don't overextend his tankiness though, he can be overwhelmed by too many hits and his Charge is scarcely usable with ho-hum effects. It’s heavily recommended to slot him with Ranged or Mage characters and/or characters that can help his damage to make him more solid.

'''Pros'''

+ Default Curse through attacking, being a great damage-reduction ailment.
+ Three sources of damage reduction for the team, {{Status|en name=Curse}}, {{Status|en name=Tenacity}} and {{Status|en name=Protection}}

+ LB2 and LB3 both have similar ranges and both apply different defensive buffs, though the difference is LB2 requires getting hit while LB3 has shorter duration and is move-reliant.
+ Relatively large/flexible application of Tenacity to allies

+ With all the above points, he has a total of 3 damage-reduction skills, something barely anyone else can boast and in turn making him an exceedingly formidable backline protector.
+ Healing provided to the team through {{Status|en name=Blessing}}

+ Standard Tenacity on demand, making him more durable.
+ Fairly tanky himself due to self {{Status|en name=Tenacity}} and Curse as mentioned before

+ Extended horizontal movement

+ Very good AR options

'''Cons'''
'''Cons'''

- The tricky part about LB2 and LB3 is that it’s to everyone behind him, this might limit viability compared to other characters as well as party compositions.
- Needs to move constantly

- CS is unremarkable effect-wise

- Charge isn’t worth noting since he’s nowhere near offensive and Burn is not a good ailment (though it can help Zabaniya).
- No source of self healing
