In his original world in regards to the near totally ignored ceremony in honor of the dead and ancestral spirits, he favors it thinking "wouldn't it be great to meet with someone from the past again?" That is because with his power to govern the earth, he also has a role as a guardian that appeases the souls of the dead so that they may rest in peace. That is a valuable "duty" he inherited in the past from a friend who had a name similar to his. His friend was hit by lightning and driven away by the king ruling in the heavens, and now he is little more than a faint, distant memory. Still for the sake of the friend delighted by the first ever crops he raised, Volos continues to cultivate the land even today. Even without that stormy weather is a great enemy of agriculture, so he feels a sense of familiarity with those who dislike lightning. | |||
