☆3/☆4 Melusine

Melusine may seem a little redundant for having 2 skills apply basically the same buff, but take it more as a buff that can happen in two different instances, Critical speaks for itself being such a huge damage buff and helps her in being a monsterous glass cannon with the bonus of granting allies some CP per level. Her Charge's effect is slightly situational, but it alone is a nuke thanks to Default's effect. Mind the differences between 3☆ and 4☆ in terms of LB2 and LB3. Consider her as a positioner to approach her augmented horizontal movement and have an excuse to move her around, if need be. A party that can augment her power further is recommended if she’s going to be your focus, since she has nothing past Critical to be remarkable (even if that by itself is great).

☆4 Christmas Melusine

Melusine (Christmas) along with her peers share a “specific proc method” motif, which in her case wasn’t done too well. “On level start” skills rely heavily on how quick each level goes and because this is almost all she has, her efficiency runs out very quickly or sometimes won’t even happen due to her somewhat on/off proc rates which shouldn’t be that way to begin with. To this, her LB2 only works well in smaller maps, where the game tends to favor bigger ones as it goes and Weakness only lasts for a turn, making it very straining to approach it. LB3 may have an insane effective range, but due to its proc method it’s hardly anything noteworthy, especially with a handful of Bewitcher units doing it simply by attacking. Overall she got the shortest end of the stick in this motif-sharing christmas, she has her uses but it’s difficult to use her over other dedicated units with much more steady proc methods.

Highlights

☆3/☆4 Melusine

Class: Glass Cannon

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ Considerably high damage thanks to Critical, which procs from more than one method, done through Default extends to her Charge for very heavy damage.

+ LB1 shares CP with allies in a very large effect range, which can quickly add up.

+ Increased horizontal movement allows her to be a great positioner in general.

Cons

- Exclusively a Crit unit, being a positioner is mostly a bonus.

- Has a strange difference of unlocking skills earlier/later depending on the rarity, with 4☆ unlocking her other Critical method very late.

- Past potential damage, Charge effects aren’t too good.

☆4 Christmas Melusine

Class: Disruptive Support

Gameplay Role:

Pros

+ Good Default to help push CP to her allies every now and then.

+ LB1 Blessing in a constant rate thanks to its proc method allows for steady healing.

+ LB2 Weakness serves well to set enemies up for a quick shutdown in a considerable radius.

Cons

- Perhaps the most glaring flaw is her proc methods, nearly all her skills rely on a proc method that runs dry in a few turns, quite limiting her utility.

- Due to lack of inherent offensive boosts, her Charge isn’t particularly useful and only hurts in a very strict window from LB2.

- To all this, sometimes not all skills will proc, it wouldn’t be an aspect to point out were it not that her aforementioned proc methods are so strict and narrow.
