An Affiliation refers to a group of characters interrelated by a formally recognized institution. The institutions constituting affiliations can be subdivided into three types: Guilds, Schools, and Other (uncategorized). Among Housamo's metagame features,

History

The concept of affiliations has existed since the game's conception in December 2017, with the earliest chapter releases using narrative elements such as distinct School settings and inter-Guild conflict. However, individual character data as a whole informally and inconsistently tracked affiliation membership. The first tangible implementation of affiliations interacting with gameplay was implemented when the first Seasonal Booster of Andvari's Shop, A Temporary Alliance, was introduced in April 2021[1], which first introduced equipment restrictions based on Guild. Affiliation gameplay features were expanded with the introduction of Affiliation Effects and External Guild Subcontract-dependent dispatches in June 2023, and Guild Membership Seal-dependent dispatches in June 2024[2]. Up until this point with the release of Chapter 15, Many characters retained still maintained unidentified Guild affiliations[3], when all previously ambiguously assigned characters were properly assigned to some combination of an extant Guild, Independent, or Unaffiliated.

Similarly, School assignments to characters were late to formally be implemented, and became meaningfully interactable with the gameplay when the expanded Character Card filter feature was implemented in November 2024[4]. The first equip with a restriction based on School, みず入らずの初詣, was released in January 2025.

Besides being filterable, uncategorized affiliations do not currently have any meaningful interactions with gameplay.

The following summarizes the known affiliations programmed directly into the game data.

Game mechanics

Equipment restrictions

Any affiliation may be used as an AR Equipment restriction criterion. Guilds have been featured in corresponding Guild-restricted Seasonal Booster Equips released in Andvari's Shop since its debut. Similarly, School-restricted Seasonal Booster Equips were made available beginning in 2025. Currently no Equip restricts for any uncategorized affiliation.

Unlocking and registering Guilds

Each Team slot, in addition to registering Character Cards and Equips owned by the Player, may also register an unlocked Guild. A Guild may be unlocked for 100 Guild Alliance Certificates. Any Member of the Team belonging to the registered Guild, excluding the Support Member, will benefit from that Guild's Affiliation Effects.

Affiliation Effects

Currently, only Guilds can utilize Affiliation Effects. For Guilds, these include four distinct Effects: ATK/DEF boost, CP boost, Skill Rate boost, and Basic Stats boost. Up to three of these Effects may be enabled at a time, and each Effect is togglable for both activation and disactivation. Each Effect begins at Level 0, and this Level can be raised to enhance their potency using Certificates up to a maximum of Level 10. The Certificate cost calculation is below:

CertificatesLv+1 = 100 × (Lvi + 1)

where:

  • Lvi is the Lv the given Effect already has

Below is the cumulative cost for reaching Lv10 of a given Effect starting at Lv0:

CertificatesLv0_to_Lv10 = 100 × [i=0,9]Σ(i) = 5500

The cost to max one Effect of one Guild is 5500 Certificates, and the cost for three Effects is 16 500 Certificates, and the cost for all four Effects is 22 000 Certificates.

ATK/DEF boost

Player Members belonging to the registered Guild will receive an intangible buff conferring damage and defense multiplier lasting for 999 turns (effectively for the entire duration of battle). At Effect Lv1, damage dealt is amplified by 1.5×, while damage received is mitigated by 0.95×. For each increase in Effect Lv, the damage amp multiplier increases by 1/6 ≈ 0.167 and the damage mit multiplier decreases by 1/18 ≈ 0.056. The maximum damage and defense multipliers at Effect Lv10 are 3× and 0.45×, respectively.

CP boost

When first arriving in battle, Player Members belonging to the registered Guild will fill their charge meter by a certain amount. At Effect Lv1, 10 CP will be raised. For each increase in Effect Lv, an additional 10 CP will be raised. The maximum charge fill At Effect Lv10 is 100CP.

Skill Rate boost

When first arriving in battle, Player Members belonging to the registered Guild will receive an intangible buff that raises each Member's skill activation rate by a certain amount for a certain duration. At Effect Lv1, rates are raised by 1% for effectively 1 turn. For each increase in Effect Lv, the rate raise increases by another 1% and the duration increases by 1 turn. The maximum rate raise and maximum duration of that raise is +10% for effectively 10 turns.

Basic Stats boost

Player Members belonging to the registered Guild will have their HP and ATK stats raised by a certain multiplier. This multiplier is increased by 0.3 for each additional Member sharing the registered guild present in the same team, excluding the Support Member. At Effect Lv1, HP and ATK are raised by 1.2 for one Player Member present, up to a 2.4× for a max of five Player Members present. For each increase in Effect Lv, the stat multiplier increases by 0.15. The maximum multiplier at Effect Lv10 is 2.55 for one Player Member present, up to a 3.75× for a max of five Player Members present.

Guild Dispatch

Characters may be dispatched to a different Guild by using either External Guild Subcontracts or Guild Membership Seals. The Guild to which a character is dispatched is hereafter referred to as the Assigned Guild. A character may only be a part of one Assigned Guild. All cards of a dispatched character will receive the same Assigned Guild recognition. A dispatched character will receive all the same benefits as a native to their Assigned Guild would, including (1) equipping Guild-restricted Equips in Player Teams, (2) equipping Guild-restricted Equips in the Support Lineup, (3) receiving the benefits from Affiliation Effects, and (4) increasing the potency of the Basic Stats boost Effect. A character may disband from their Assigned Guild at no cost, but dispatching to another Guild, including the one they had just left, will reincur the same cost.

Subcontract dispatch

Currently, only the Protagonist and the Hero can be dispatched by using 1 External Guild Subcontract.

Seal dispatch

Any other character besides the Protagonist and the Hero can only be dispatched by using 200 Guild Membership Seals.
