Profile

"This unit is designated exploration model replicant R-19. It asks for your cooperation in the field survey."

An android who came to Tokyo through the Utopia gate, created by the denizens of that world for the purpose of collecting information and surveying the local culture. Its appearance as a young boy is intentional, to stir protective feelings and a desire not to harm the unit in others. It is equipped with a learning AI in order to respond flexibly to situations as they arise, but its experience is currently shallow and poorly mimics emotion. This unit has taken particular interest in the Hero as a basis to better learn the feelings and ways of this strange new world.

For the purpose of self-defense and confidentiality protection, R-19 is equipped with a standard-issue Heat Gun. However, due to inefficient heat dissipation, firing the gun also shortens the product life. This, too, is a deliberate design decision on the part of the manufacturer, as R-19 units are meant to have short lifespans, lest their AI develop emotions and opinions that run counter to their mission objective.
