{{#vardefine:transient jp en research file|Transient from the world of Aaru. As a watcher of the dead, he has come to see off travelers heading to the world of long nights. They say when he's bored he often tells riddles to whoever happens to walk by to confound them. People know him through terrifying rumors that say he eats anyone who fails to answer those riddles. Sphinx however has never eaten anyone since it would mean there would be one less person to play with, which may be one reason his body has never shown any signs of growing. Originally he wore a mask that symbolizes authority and spoke in a tone befitting that manner, but this frightened everyone he came across so he eventually he went without it. Sphinx is another half self of the World Representative of Aaru who rules the sky and lived in the world of daylight. He specializes in haggling and trickery about as well as the leaders of his guild. He doesn't like being treated as a child, but he doesn't hate the vampire who calls him cute either. When certain conditions are fulfilled, he joins a different guild.}}
